The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has invited online applications from Indian students for its Summer Internship Programme (NSIP) 2026. The internship will be conducted across 8 Schools and Centres, offering students an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art research projects under the supervision of NISER faculty. The programme will run from 16th May to 15th July 2026.

Additional Eligibility Conditions
- Students who have previously availed of the NSIP programme at NISER are not eligible to apply again.
- Applicants must contact a faculty member (Principal Investigator) directly, obtain their acceptance, and apply with a consent letter/e-mail received from them.
- Applications will only be considered for the PIs for whom vacancies/seats are advertised.

How to Apply for NSIP?
Interested and eligible candidates can follow the step-by-step process below to apply for the NISER Summer Internship 2026 before the last date.
Step 1: Visit the official NISER website at www.niser.ac.in and navigate to the NSIP 2026 notice, or directly access the Google Form link.
Step 2: Before applying, explore the research areas of different Schools and identify faculty (PIs) whose work aligns with your interests.
Step 3: Contact the faculty member directly via email and obtain their consent/acceptance letter for the internship.
Step 4: Prepare the “Bonafide-Cum-No Objection Certificate” in the prescribed format given in the notification (Page 6). This must be issued on the official letterhead of your institution by a competent authority (Director/Dean/HOD/Registrar).
Step 5: Fill out the Google Application Form with all the required information and upload the scanned copy of the Bonafide-Cum-NOC.
Step 6: Arrange for two reference letters from referees. These letters should be sent directly by the referees via email to the programme coordinator of the respective school (e.g., summerproject_sbs@niser.ac.in for Biological Sciences) on or before 10th April 2026.
NSIP Stipend 2026
Selected candidates for the NISER Summer Internship 2026 may be eligible for financial support as per the details below.
