Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET)

Board of Secondary Education Odisha invites online application for Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET). The examination will be conducted for different posts of teachers in two different categories such as- Category I for Trained Graduate Teachers (Science/ Arts), Hindi Teacher, Classical Teacher (Sanskrit/ Urdu/ Telgu) and Category II for Physical Education Teacher. Candidates aspiring to become Teachers in any of the Secondary Schools of the state may appear for the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) 2019. Eligible and interested candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the Board of Secondary Education Odisha (See link given below). Required educational qualification and other details for informational purposes only in interest of job-seekers, are given below in brief —

 

BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION ODISHA INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ODISHA SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (OSSTET). LAST DATE — 16/12/2019

 

ODISHA SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (OSSTET) 2019

 

Educational Qualification:

I) For Trained Graduate Teacher (Arts):-

i) Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/ Commerce or Shastri (Sanskrit) Degree with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective/ Pass/ Optional from a recognised University having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) from a recognised Institution.
OR
ii) Four year integrated B.A.B.Ed from recognised Institution with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective / Pass/ Optional having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates).


II) For Trained Graduate Teacher Science (PCM/ CBZ):-

i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ B.Tech/ B.E. Degree with two schools subject as Honours/ Elective/ Pass/ Optional from a recognised University having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) from a recognised Institution.
OR
ii) Four year integrated B.Sc.B.Ed from a recognised Institution with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective/ Pass/ Optional having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates).


III) For Hindi Teacher:-

i) Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University with Hindi as one of the Honours/ Elective/ Optional/ Pass subject with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) and ny one of the following training qualifications:-
a) Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.
b) B.H.Ed. a course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.
c) B.Ed in Hindi, a course prescribed by NCTE , from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras.
OR
ii) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) with one of the following qualifications:-
a) Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha,
b) Shastri (Hindi) from Orissa Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri.
c) Snataka (Acquired by June -2005, the date up to which the temporary recognition has been granted) from Hindi Sikshya Samiti, Odisha, Cuttack.
AND
One of the following Training qualifications:-
a) Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.
b) B.H.Ed. a course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.
c) B.Ed in Hindi, a course prescribed by NCTE, from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras.


IV) For Classical Teacher (Sanskrit):-

i) Bachelor’s Degree with Sanskrit as one of the Honours/ Elective/ Optional/ Pass subject from a recognised University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) and Sikshya Shastri (Sanskrit) course from a recognised University/ Institution.
OR
ii) Shastri (Sanskrit) Degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) from a recognized University and Sikshya Shastri (Sanskrit) course from a recognised University/ Institution.

V) For Classical Teacher (Urdu):-
i) Alim with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for PH candidates) and B.Ed./ Urdu B.Ed. from a recognised University/ Institution.
OR
ii) B.A. (Persian) with 50% marks in aggregate (45% PH candidates) and B.Ed./ Urdu B.Ed. from a recognised University/ Institution.


VI) For Classical Teacher (Telgu):-
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts having Telgu as subject with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates) and Telgu B.Ed. from a recognized University/ Institution.


VI) For Physical Education Teacher:-

i) +2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized Institution with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates).
ii) C.P.Ed./ B.P.Ed./ M.P.Ed. from a recognized Board/ University.

 

Note: The candidate must be able to read and write in Odia. Any one of the following qualification will be taken into consideration to ascertain the ability of the candidate.
i) He/ she must have passed HSC Examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha or an equivalent examination conducted by any other State Board or Central Board (like CBSE, ICSE) with Odia as a language subject i.e. First/ Second or Third Language.
ii) He/ She must have passed +2/ Higher Secondary Examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha with Odia as an examination subject.
iii) He must have passed Odia Examination of HSC/ 10th Standard Single Subject Examination conduct by the B.S.E., Odisha.
In case the candidate desire to be language teacher like Hindi/ Classical Teachers (Sanskrit/ Telgu/ Urdu), passing Odia Examination of 07th Standard conducted by B.S.E., Odisha shall be allowed.

The examination will be conducted for different posts of teachers in different categories. Candidates aspiring to become Teachers in any of the Secondary Schools of the state may appear for the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) 2019.

Candidates who are in the final year of Training Course or are appearing/ have appeared in the Training Examination but results not published are also eligible to appear in the Test.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) consisting of two paper namely Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates having requisite academic and training qualifications as per Category-I have to appear in
Paper-I examination and candidates having requisite academic and training qualification as per Category-II have to appear in Paper-II examination. The minimum pass mark in each paper is 60% (50% marks for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates).

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Board of Secondary Education Odisha — www.osstet.co.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 07/12/2019 to 16/12/2019.

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION ODISHA AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
