For recruitment of officers in Indian Air Force Short Service Commission “Flying Branch” and Permanent/Short Service Commissions “Technical” & “Ground Duty Officer”, is taking unmarried graduate pass boys and girls.
Flying Branch: Graduate pass with total 50% marks in any stream can apply for the post. Should have done and obtained pass marks in Physics and Mathematics in Higher Secondary. Candidates with total 60% marks in Engineering Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) Course can also eligible to apply.
Age should be between 19yrs to 23yrs as on 1.1.2012. If candidates have commercial Pilot License then birth date should be between 2-1-1987 to 1-1-1993.
Physical height and measurement should be 162.5 cm in height, leg- 99 to 120 cm and Eye sight: 6/6 with one eye and 6/9 with other.
Ground Duty Branch: Graduate on following stream- Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Engineering or For candidates with graduate in Law should have acquired total 60% marks and Post Graduate candidates on those streams with 50% marks can apply for the “Administration & Logistic” branch.
With total 60% marks in Commerce stream’s candidates OR Post-Graduate with 50%maks in Commerce stream can apply for the “Accounts” branch. Commerce’s Graduate or Post-Graduate’s candidates with 50% marks in Cost/Chattered Accountancy Course can also apply.
Post Graduate candidates with total 50% marks in Math, Statistics, Geography, Computer Application, Environmental Science, Applied Physics, Oceanography, Meteorology, Agriculture meteorology, Ecology and Environment, Geo-physics, and Environmental Biology can apply for the post in “Meteorology” branch. Should have 55% marks in Degree Course with Physics and Mathematics.
Post Graduate candidates with 50% marks in any stream can apply for the post in “Education” Branch.
Age should be as follows:– Candidates with Graduate- 20yrs to 23yrs; Post graduate/5yrs Law Course done candidates- 20yrs to 25 yrs; Candidates with 3yrs in Law after Degree course- 20yrs to 26yrs; for candidates with M.Ed, PhD, C.A., I.C.W.A- 20yrs to 27yrs.
Physical height and measurement should be, in case of Boys, 157.5 cm and 152 cm in case of Girls.
Jobs will be in, in case of Boys, 131 Ground Duty Officer Course (Permanent Commission) and 24 Short Service Commission And in case of Girls, the job will be in 40 Short Service Commission.
Training will be started on January of forthcoming year. First training in case of Flying and Technical Branch will be of 74 weeks and in case of Ground Duty Officer, will be of 52 weeks.
Candidates will be selected through Air Force Entrance Test (AFET). The exam will be held on 27 March on Barrackpur, Guahati, Kolaikunda and Hasimara Air Force Camp. 2 hours exam will be on Multiple Choice Type on following topics: (i) Verbal Ability, (ii) Numerical Ability, (iii) Reasoning, (iv) General Awareness and Aptitude. - Self-Addressed envelope (23x10cm) with affixed postal stamp of Rs. 27
- Self Addressed envelope (23x10cm) with affixed postal stamp of Rs. 5
- Recent 2 nos. colored pass-port size photograph with self-sign on it. One copy affixed on the application form and other on the Admit card.

Last date of the Application: 22 February (For candidates from Andaman Nicobar Island, Assam, Tripura: 1st March)
