Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is recruiting 110 nos. Operator-cum-Technician Trainee and Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee for Salem Steel Plant. Higher Secondary pass candidates with I.T.I. or Diploma can apply for the post.Advertisement No.2/2010.
Attendant cum Technician Trainee: Higher Secondary pass candidates with total 60% (50% in case of SC/ST) marks from I.T.I. in Fitter, Electrician or Machinist Trade Certificate course can apply for the post.
First there will be two years training, during that time for the first year stipend of Rs.6600 will be given and for the second year stipend of Rs. 7700 will be given. If succeeded then pay scale per month will be given Rs. 8630-12080 per month
Total vacant for this posts is 96 nos. and is as follows: Fitter- 40 nos.; Electrician- 26 nos.; and Machinist- 30 nos. Seats reserved are as follows: Gen- 51; O.B.C.- 26; SC-18; ST-1. Among total nos. of vacancies there is 3 for PH and 28 for Ex-serviceman candidates.
Operator cum Technician Trainee: Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Metallurgy Engineering Diploma Pass candidates with minimum 60% marks obtained (50% in case of SC/ST) can apply for the post.
As a beginner there will be 2 years Training and during this training period, stipend for the first year will be Rs. 8250 and for the second year Rs. 9350. If selected pay per month will be Rs. 9160-13150 per month.
Total vacant post: 14 nos. and is as follows:- Mechanical- 4 nos.; Electrical- 3nos.; Metallurgy- 5 nos. Electronics/Instrumentation- 2 nos.
Seats are as follows: Gen-8; OBC-4; SC-2; PH-1; Ex-serviceman- 6.
Age limit for all the above mentioned posts shall be between 18- 28 years as on 1.10.1010. Age relaxable given for Scheduled candidates- 5yrs, OBC candidates- 3yrs and PH candidates is 10yrs.
As physical measurement, candidates should be 155cm in height, 45 kg in weight and Chest without expanded 75 cm and Chest with expanded should be 79 cm. Eye sight: 6/6 for both.

- Attested copies of Educational and Age proof certificate
- Attested copies of caste/PH certificates.
- One Recent passport size photograph with self signature on it and affixed it on Application form.
- Account payee Demand Draft of Rs. 250 in favour of “SAIL –A/c Salem Steel Plant” and payable at- “Salem (State Bank of India, Salem Steel Plant Campus Branch”
On the top of the envelope containing application form should be super scribed: “Application for the post of Operator-Cum-Technician- Trainee or Attendant cum-Technician-Trainee in Salem Steel Plant”.
