Panchayats & Rural Development Department, Office of the District Magistrate – Paschim Medinipur, Govt. of West Bengal, is recruiting 348 persons for the posts of — Block Informatics Officer, Data Entry Operator, Accounts Clerk, Clerk-cum-Typist, Nirman Sahayak, Sahayak and Gram Panchayat Karmee. Candidates who meets the below given Qualification criteria may apply for the posts on prescribed application format. Eligibility norms and etc in brief is given below—
1. GRAM PANCHAYAT KARMEE: 217 Nos. (Gen—58; SC—48; ST—13; OBC—33)
Qualification: Class VIII pass
Pay scale: Rs.4900—Rs.16200 and Grade pay: Rs.1700 plus other allowances.
2. SAHAYAK of Gram Panchayat: 55 Nos. (Gen—31; SC—12; ST—3; OBC—9)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2300 plus other allowances
3. NIRMAN SAHAYAK of Gram Panchayat: 29 Nos. (Gen—16; SC—6; ST—2; OBC—5)
Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognized Institute
Pay scale: Rs.9000—Rs.40500 and Grade pay: Rs.4400 plus other allowances
4. CLERK-CUM-TYPIST of Panchayat Samiti: 25 Nos. (Gen—14; SC—5; ST—2; OBC—4)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent and must have Typing Speed of 30 words per minute in English and 20 words per minute in Bengali.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—Rs.25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600 plus other allowances
5. ACCOUNTS CLERK of Panchayat Samiti: 18 Nos. (Gen—10; SC—4; ST—1; OBC—3)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent
Desired Qualification: Diploma in Computer Application from any recognized Institute is desirable.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600 and plus other allowances
6. DATA ENTRY OPERATOR, Panchayat Samiti (DEO): 2 Nos. (Gen—1; SC—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent and must have Typing Speed of 30 words per minute in English and 20 words per minute in Bengali AND at least 3 months of Computer training from any recognized Institute and with minimum Data Entry speed of 6000 key depression per hour.
Experience: One year of experience in Data Entry Works is required.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—Rs.25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600 plus other allowances.
7. BLOCK INFORMATICS OFFICER (BIO) of Panchayat Samiti: 2 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: BCA/ B Sc. In Computer Science OR Graduate in any discipline with A level Certificate Course of DOEACC – OR 3yrs of Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology/ Electronics & Telecommunication and B or C level Certificate Course from DOEACC
Pay scale: Rs.7100—37600 and Grade pay: Rs.3900 plus other allowances.
N.B: Reservation for Sportsperson, PH and Ex-Serviceman candidates is as per norms. Refer the Advt. (link given below)
Age limits: (For all posts) Between 18yrs to 40yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs, OBC—3yrs and Others—as per norms.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates should apply on prescribed application format along with attested passport size photograph of applicant and submit the same to the District Magistrate and Executive Officer, Paschim Medinipur Zilla Parishad, Panchayat & Rural Development Section, Collectorate Compound, Medinipur, Pin—721101.
The application form can be also submitted in person by dropping it in the Drop-Box kept at the Office at the above mentioned Address.
Candidates should prepare the application as per format on plain paper.
Application form should be enclosed with Attested copies of following documents and testimonials, such as – Age proof (Madhyamik pass certificate can be given), Caste certificate, Residential Certificate (Voter card/ Ration card/ Driving licence/ Passport), Educational certificates and Marksheets, Certificates of English/ Bengali Typing course, as applicable, PH/ Ex-Serviceman proof and one Self-addressed envelope with affixed postal stamp of Rs.5.
The application containing envelope should be superscribed with—(i) Name of Post:, (ii) Applicant Name: and (iii) Address:
Eligible candidates will be called to appear in Written examination. Qualified candidates from Written Examination will be eligible to appear in viva voce/ Computer Test, as applicable.
The date and venue will be informed to the eligible candidates in due course through Admit Card.
Last Date and Address to send the Application: Application form should reach within or on 05th September 2012 by post or can be dropped in the Drop-box from dated 18-08-2012 to 05-09-2012 (10AM to 5PM). Do you mean to say filling the form’s space with computer typing? Of-course not. You can type the form as per format on computer and then print it out on white paper, later you have to fill the space with your own handwriting.
Do we have to get the photograph attested by gazetted office ?? please reply.
photograph attested by Class-I officer of State/ Central Govt. Yes you can attested it by Gazetted Officer. In my area I usually attested my documents from Sales Tax Officer. Do not go to their assistant.

Computer certificate is to be enclosed, if applicable. For e.g. candidates opting for Gram Panchayat Karmee do not require Computer certificate whereas for Data Entry Operator; computer certificate is compulsory.
