Eligibility Criteria for Odisha Public Service Commission Recruitment 2024

(1) Cardiology

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:- D.M./ DNB-SS (Cardiology).

(2) C.T.V.S.

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:- M.Ch./ DNB-SS (Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery)

(3) Endocrinology

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:- D.M./ DNB-SS (Endocrinology)

(4) Hepatology

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:- D.M./ DNB-SS (Hepatology)
or
D.M./DNB
1. Gastroenterology
2. General Medicine

(5) Urology

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:- M.Ch./DNB-SS (Urology)

(6) Endocrine Surgery

In case of non-availability of the candidate with the above qualification, the candidate has 03 years post-PG (General Surgery) experience in this subject in MCI recognized medical college conducting another super specialty course.

(7) Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology

Specialized training for three years in the respective new super specialty in a teaching institute/ center of excellence with dedicated services in that specialty.

(8) Pulmonary Medicine

Academic Qualification & Teaching Experience:-  D.M./ DNB-SS (Pulmonary Medicine)
or
M.D./DNB
1. Respiratory medicine
2. General Medicine
3. Pediatrics

Specialized training for three years in the respective new super specialty in a teaching institute/center of excellence with dedicated services in that specialty.

Age Limit:- A candidate must be 21 years of age and must not be more than 45 years of age as of 1st January 2024 i.e. he must not be born before 2nd January 1979 and not after 1st January 2003.

The upper age limit prescribed above shall be relaxable by 5 (five) years for women and ex-servicemen category candidates and 10 years for persons with disability category, whose permanent disability is 40% and above.

Selection Process for Odisha PSC Recruitment 2024

The selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in Super Specialty will be made on the basis of a written examination as per the guidelines enumerated in the Odisha Medical Education Service (Procedure of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021.

The written examination will be conducted in the following manner:-

(i) The written test will be of 200 marks in total;
(ii) The total number of questions will be 200 and will be multiple-choice questions
(MCQ) pattern;
(iii) Each question shall carry one mark.
(iv) There will be negative markings for wrong answers. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the marks awarded for the correct answer.
(v) 35% of the qualifying marks in the written examination prescribed by the Commission.
(vi) The duration of the examination shall be 3 hours;
(vii) Syllabus: The syllabus for the post of Assistant Professor (Super Specialty) will be from Super Specialty Subject (MCL/NMC approved DM/MCH Syllabus for Super Specialty Subject).

Examination Venue

The written exam for the post of Assistant Professor (Super Specialty) will be held in Cuttack. The examination program should be notified in advance.

Candidates have to apply online only through the www.opsc.gov.in. website.

Candidates qualified in the written test should bring hard copies of the online application along with copies of the following relevant certificates/documents and their originals for verification of their eligibility as per advertisement conditions.

All the following certificates must be uploaded along with the online application:

1) H.S.C. or equivalent certificate in support of age declaration issued by the concerned Board/Council;
2) MBBS Degree Certificate issued from the Marksheet/consolidated Mark sheet of MBBS Degree of a recognized University;
3) Houseman-Ship Completion Certificate;
4) All Chance Certificates of M.B.B.S
5) M.S./M.D. Certificate of relevant discipline.
