Ordnance Depot Alipore, Kolkata, requires Group-C (Mazdoor, Fireman, Carpenter, Messenger, Etc). Last Dt. 18/01/2014

Ordnance Depot Alipore, Kolkata is inviting application for the post of Group-C (Mazdoor, Fireman, Carpenter & Jointer and Messenger). Interested and eligible candidates may submit their Application form on prescribed application format within 21 days from the date of publication of the notice in Employment News (see below). Qualification norms and eligibility criteria is given below —

1. Mazdoor (Now Tradesman Mate): 7 Nos. (Gen—4; SC—2; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent. Candidates must be physically fit.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1800/-

2. Fireman: 4 Nos. [Gen—2; OBC—1; UR(PH/HH)—1]
Qualification: Matriculation and must meet the following physical Standard — Height: 165cms; Chest (unexpanded)—81.5cms; Chest (expanded)—85cms; Weight: minimum 50Kgs.
Candidates will require to qualify the following Endurance Test—
i. Carrying a man (fire lift) of 63.5 kgs to distance of 183 mtrs within 96 seconds.
ii. Clearing 2.7 mtrs wide ditch landing on both feet (Long Jump)
iii. Climbing of 3 mtrs vertical rope using hand and feet. 
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1900/-

3. Carpenter & Jointer: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and ITI Trade certificate of 3yrs duration in the trade OR experience of actual work in the trade.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1900/-

4. Messenger: 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1800/-

 Age Limit (For all post): between 18yrs to 30yrs as on last date of application.
 Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Endurance test (wherever applicable) and Trade Test (wherever applicable). Qualified candidates will be then called for Interview.

The date and time of test and interview will be intimated to the eligible candidates by post. The Test/Interview will be held at Ordnance Depot, Alipore, Kolkata—27.

How to Apply: Interested candidates may apply on prescribed application format only (or can be neatly typed on plain paper as per given format) along with attested copies of testimonials in support of Qualification, Age, Caste, Residential, and Etc. Attestation of the documents shall be done by Gazetted Officer only.
