Ordnance Depot, Avadi, Chennai — 600 055, is recruiting eligible candidates for 12 posts of – Lower Division Clerk, Armoured Fighting Vehicle Driver, Fireman, Gun Fitter and Safaiwala. 1. Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 7 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—2; OBC—2; OBC-PH—1)
Qualification: Class 12 or equivalent AND English Typing @ 35 w.p.m. on Computer OR Hindi Typing 30 w.p.m. on Computer
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1900
2. Armoured Fighting Vehicle Driver (AFV Driver): 1 Nos. on deputation/ Re-employment.
Only Armed Forces personal who are retired or to be transferred / Ex-Serviceman are eligible to apply.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and should posses Driving License for Light and heavy Vehicle with atleast Five years experience in driving Armoured Fighting Vehicle in the Army.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400
3. Fireman: 1 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and must be physically fit. Candidates must meet the following physical standards —
(i) Height without shoes – 165 cms
(ii) Chest (un-expanded) – 81.5 cms
(iii) Chest (on expansation) – 85 cms
(iv) Weight – 50 Kgs (minimum)
(v) Endurance test –
(a) Carrying a man (Fireman lift) of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds.
(b) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump).
(c) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1900
4. Gun Fitter: 1 Nos. (General)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent and certificate in the trade from recognize Technical Training Institute OR 3rys training or experience of actual work in Government workshop or private firm of repute.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2400
5. Safaiwala: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC—1)
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent. Experience in the work is desirable.
Age Limit: candidates must be between 18yrs to 25yrs as on last date of application. Upper age relaxation is as per Govt. norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Test and Interview. Exact date and time of test/interview will be intimated on the Admission Card which will be issued to eligible candidates in due course.
