Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), under Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting 158 persons for the posts in Para Medical Cadre – SI (Staff Nurse), ASI (Pharmacist, ASI (Radiographer), ASI (Operation Theatre Technician), ASI (Dental Technician), HC (Steward), CT (Lab Asst.), CT (Ayah), CT (Masalchi) and CT (Table boy). Eligible candidates may apply on the prescribed format. Qualification and other criteria is given below—
1. SI (Staff Nurse): 48 Nos. Female Only (Gen—24; SC—7; ST—03; OBC—14)
Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science or equivalent and must have done 3yrs of Diploma course in General Nursing from Institute recognised by State or Central Govt. candidates must be registered with Central/ State Nursing Council and must have minimum 2 years of experience in recognised Hospital/ Nursing home.
2. ASI (Pharmacist): 18 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—9; OBC—4; SC—3; ST—1). Out of them 1 Nos. X-serviceman
Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science or equivalent and should have done Degree/ Diploma in Pharmacy from recognised Institutions and must be registered as a Pharmacist.
3. ASI (Radiographer): 10 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—5; OBC—3; SC—1). Out of them 1nos. X-serviceman
Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science or equivalent and should have done Diploma in Radio diagnosis as well as must have experience of minimum 1 year in Radiological department in any govt. hospital.
4. ASI (Operation Theatre Technician): 2 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—02)
Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science or equivalent and should have done Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician or Certificate in Operation Theatre Assistant cum Central Sterile supply Assistant Training Course from recognised institutions. Candidates must have minimum experience of 2yrs as an operation theatre.
5. ASI (Dental Technician): 3 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—03)
Qualification: Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science or equivalent and should done 2yrs of Diploma in Dental Hygienist Course and must have one year of experience as a Dental Technician in reputed Hospital.
6. HC (Steward): 3 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—03)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and should have diploma or certificate in Catering Kitchen Management from a reputed institute as well as 1 year of experience in reputed hotel.
7. CT (Lab Assistant): 58 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—21; OBC—19; SC—8; ST—5). Out of them X-Serviceman—5nos.
Qualification: Madhyamik with Science and should have Certificate in Laboratory Assistant Course.
8. CT (Ayah): 8 Nos. Female only (Gen—5; OBC—2; SC—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik with science and must have First Aid Examination pass certificate from Red Cross Society or should be trained Dai. Candidates must have one year of experience in relevant field.
9. CT (Masalchi): 6 Nos. Male/Female (Gen—5; OBC—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and two years of experience in similar jobs in reputed Hotel or Restaurant or reputed institute
10. CT (Table Boy): 2 Nos. Male only (Gen—2)
Qualification: Madhyamik and 2yrs of experience in similar job in any reputed Hotel or Defence Service Mess or other Officers Mess.
The above mentioned posts were temporary but likely to become permanent. The recruitment will be conducted on All India basis. Candidates should meet the above qualification before or on the last date of application.
Age limits:—
For the posts in SI (Sub-Inspector)—between 21yrs to 30yrs.
For the posts in ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector)—between 20yrs to 30yrs
For the post in HC (Head Constable)—between 18yrs to 25yrs
For the posts in CT (Constable)—between 18yrs to 25yrs
Age of the candidates will be counted as on 31/8/2012. Age relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs and OBC—3yrs. Ex-Serviceman and rests of others—as per norms.
Physical Standard (For all Posts)—
Height:— Male:170cms and Female: 157cms
Chest (Male):— unexpanded: 80cms and expanded: 85cms.
Weight: proportional to height and age as per Medical Standards.
Eyesight: 6/6 in minimum distant vision and 6/9 of two eyes without correction/glasses.
Candidates must not have any physical defect such as – flat foot, knock knee, varicose vein and etc which may interfere in performance of duty.
Cut-off in Chest and Height for Hill area candidates and SC/ST is as per norms. Please refer the advt.
Physical Efficiency Test (For all posts)—
For Male—One mile race in 6:30 minutes; 11 feet Long Jump in 3 chances and 3.5 ft High Jump in 3 chances
For Female—800 Mtrs. Race within 4 minutes; 9 ft Long jump in 3 chances and 3 ft High jump in 3 chances.
Selection Steps: Selection will be made through Physical Standard Test, Efficiency Test, Written Test and Trade/ Technical Test. Qualified candidates will finally go for Medical examination.
The Minimum qualifying Marks for Written Examination will be 40% for General and Ex-serviceman category and 35% for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. For syllabus refer the Advt.
Admit cards/ Call letter will not be issued to the qualified candidates. They will have to look for their name on the Name-List which will be displayed on the notice board at the recruitment venue as well as list will be also available on the official website of SSB.
