No. of Vacancies: 25 Nos. (UR-18, SC-03, ST-02, OBC-02)
Educational Qualification:
i) A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board/ University/ Institution.
ii) Speed in Shorthand and Type writing @ 120 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. respectively.
iii) The candidates should possess knowledge in the vernacular of the State.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/01/2019.
Pay Scale: Rs. 7100 – 37600/- and Grade Pay Rs. 3600/-
The vacancies are under the Appellate Side of Calcutta High Court. The candidates will be appointed initially on purely Temporary basis but likely to be made Permanent.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST category of West Bengal. Upper age limit is relaxable upto 45 years in case of PWD candidates. Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category candidates.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Shorthand and Transcription Test.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for S.C./S.T. of West Bengal candidates only) as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of The Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta, payable at G.P.O. at Calcutta.
NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF CANDIDATES BELONGING TO EXEMPTED CATEGORIES.
