Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is recruiting eligible candidates for 07 posts of Project Associate (Ecology), Project Fellow (Ecology/ Sociology/ GIS & Remote sensing) and Project Assistant Grade II. The vacancies are under the Project “Landscape Sustainability Challenges in Proposed Simplipal Satkosia Corridor Region due to Collective Mining Regime: Mining- Wildlife Habitat Linkages and Impacts”. The candidates will be appointed on Contractual basis initially for a period of One year, that can be extended depending on the candidate’s performance and the programme needs. WILDLIFE INSTITUTE OF INDIA (WII) WILL CONDUCT WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR 07 POSTS OF PROJECT ASSOCIATE (ECOLOGY), PROJECT FELLOW (ECOLOGY/ SOCIOLOGY/ GIS & REMOTE SENSING) AND PROJECT ASSISTANT GRADE II. WALK-IN DATE — 20/09/2019

 

1. PROJECT ASSOCIATE (ECOLOGY)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Masters’ degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Forestry/ Environmental Science & Management/ Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences or related subjects with 60% marks in aggregate.
Experience: More than 04 years’ experience in wildlife science/ wildlife conservation.
Desirable: i) Candidates with Ph.D. degree in relevant subject will be preferred.
ii) Experience in the wildlife habitat assessment; population monitoring, vegetation analysis.
iii) At least one paper published in a peer reviewed journal.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 45,000/- per month.

 

2. PROJECT FELLOW (ECOLOGY)
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Environment Science and Management or Related subjects with 60% marks in aggregate.
Experience: One year or more experience in relevant field.
Desirable: i) Research/ conservation experience on wildlife ecology especially on habitat assessment, application of camera trapping.
ii) Efficiency in Computer use such MS Office and statistical packages.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 32,000/- per month.

 

3. PROJECT FELLOW (SOCIOLOGY)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Wildlife Science/ Forestry/ Environment Science and Management/ Social Science/ Sociology/ Humanities/ Economics/ Political Sciences/ Anthropology/ Ecology, Environment and Sustainable Development or related subjects with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
Experience: One year or more experience in relevant field.
Desirable: Experience in conducting social survey, human – wildlife interaction and stakeholder analysis.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 32,000/- per month.

 

4. PROJECT FELLOW (GIS & REMOTE SENSING)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Masters’ degree with minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Geo-informatics/ Environmental Science/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Wildlife science/ Forestry/ or related subjects.
Desirable: i) Experience in Remote Sensing & GIS Competency in Arc GIS, ERDAS-IMAGINE and other Open Source softwares.
ii) Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 32,000/- per month.

 

5. PROJECT ASSISTANT GRADE II
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Bachelors’ Degree in any discipline related to Biological Science/ Life Science/ Ecological Sciences from a recognized University.
Desirable: i) Experience of working with wildlife/ Field ecology/ Biodiversity conservation.
ii) Efficiency in Computer use such MS Office.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.20,000/- per month.
