ICMR-National Institute of Virology (NIV) is recruiting eligible candidates for 07 posts of Project Scientist-C (Medical), Project Scientist-B (Medical/ Non-Medical), Project Technical Assistant and Project Technician-III. The vacancies are for ICMR-National Institute of Virology (NIV), Kerala Unit ad-hoc research project titled, “Establishment of a network of Laboratories for managing Epidemics and Natural Calamities”. The candidates will be appointed on Contract basis initially for a period of Six (06) months, which may be further extended depending on tenure of the project and performance of the candidate. 1. PROJECT SCIENTIST-C (MEDICAL)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Post graduate degree (MD/ MS/ DNB) after MBBS with 01 year experience OR Postgraduate diploma in medical subjects after MBBS with 02 years’ experience OR MBBS degree with 04 years experience in medical subjects.
Desirable: i) MD in Medicine or Microbiology or Community Medicine.
ii) Experience in the field of infectious disease, virology, etc
iii) Fluency in local language (Malayalam).
iv) Good English language skill.
v) Good computer knowledge.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 75,000/- per month.
2. PROJECT SCIENTIST-B (MEDICAL)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: MBBS degree with one year Research/ Teaching experience or MD in Microbiology/ Pathology/ Community Medicine (PSM).
Desirable: i) MD in said subjects with experience in the field of infectious disease and diagnostics.
ii) Fluency in local language (Malayalam).
iii) Good English language skill.
iv) Good computer knowledge.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 65,000/- per month.
3. PROJECT SCIENTIST-B (NON-MEDICAL)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: 1st class Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Virology from a recognized University with 02 years experience in research field or 2nd class Master’s degree with PhD in relevant subject.
Desirable: i) PhD in said subjects with experience in techniques like PCR, DNA cloning, protein purification, tissue culture, virus isolation, ELISA with good knowledge in computer etc.
ii) Fluency in local language (Malayalam).
iii) Good English language skill.
iv) Good computer knowledge.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 60,000/- per month.
4. PROJECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Graduate in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Virology/Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University with 03 years work experience or Masters degree in above said subjects.
Desirable: i) Experience in PCR, tissue culture, ELISA.
ii) Fluency in local language (Malayalam).
iii) Good English language skill.
iv) Good computer knowledge.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 30,000/- per month.
5. PROJECT TECHNICIAN-III
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: 12th Pass in Science subjects and two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or one year DMLT plus one year required experience or two years Laboratory experience (B.Sc. degree shall be treated as 3 years experience).
Desirable: i) Knowledge in computer and experience in data entry & computer programming.
ii) Fluency in local language (Malayalam).
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 25,000/- per month.
