N.B: The numbers of vacancies in each posts will be announced later. Initial appointment will be made on temporary basis.
For the post of “Sub Inspector of Excise—only male can apply whereas for the post of Lady Extension Officer and Mass Education Extension – only female candidates may apply.

Qualification Required: Degree in any discipline or equivalent and ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for recruitment in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).

Age Limits: between 20yrs to 32yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation as per norms.

Pay scale: —
From Serial No. 1 to 12: Rs.7100—37600 with Grade pay: Rs.3900 plus other allowances.
From Serial No. 13 to 19: Rs.7100—37600 with Grade pay: Rs.3600/- plus other allowances.

Selection Steps:-
Selection of the candidates will be in three steps, i.e. (i) Preliminary Examination, (ii) Main Examination and (iii) Personality Test.
Preliminary examination will be held in the month of March 2013 at following city — Kolkata (N), Kolkata (S), Baruipur, Barasat, Howrah, Chinsurah, Burdwan, Asansol, Midnapore, Tamluk, Bankura, Berhampore, Malda, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri and Darjeeling.

Qualified candidates will be called for Main Written examination will be on September 2013 in Kolkata.
Personality Test will be at Commission’s office at Kolkata. For syllabus of Examination please see the Advt. (link given below).

Application fee: Rs. 160 in form of Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Treasury Challan. SC/ST and PWD candidates do not require to pay any fee.
No fee exemption will be given for SC/ST/ BC candidates of other States .

How to Apply: Application form can be downloaded from the official website of PSC West Bengal — http://www.pscwb.org.in or can be neatly typed as per format on plain thick foolscap size (32cm X 21 cm) paper as per format.

Candidates should enclose the following documents (In attested copies) along with the application form—

• Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Treasury Challan of Rs.160/– (For General and OBC candidates)
• School certificates/ Qualification certificates
• Caste certificates/ PH certificates or Meritorious sportsperson can submit the Sport certificate.
• 2 Nos. passport size photographs (one copy self signed and pasted on the form and other copy as enclosures)
• 2 Nos. self-addressed envelopes without postal stamp
• Any other relevant documents

The top of the envelope should be superscribe — ADVT. NO., NAME OF THE EXAMINATION and NAME OF EXAMINATION CENTRE OPTED.
