ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

5. Modeling & Sculpture: 01 (UR)
6. Leather Craft & Toy Making (in the stream of Decorative Art & Craft): 2 Nos. (SC-1; OBC B-1)
7. Wood Work & Furniture Design (in the stream of Decorative Art & Craft): 2 Nos. (ST-1; OBC B-1)

Educational Qualification:

(i) For all subjects except History of Art: Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University.
OR A Professional artist with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject, who should have: (i) First class Diploma in Visual (Fine) arts discipline from the recognized Institution of India/Abroad; (ii) Five years of experience of holding regular Regional/National exhibitions/Workshops with evidence; and (iii) Ability to explain the logical reasoning of the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in that discipline

(ii) For subject History of Art: Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject like History with specialization in Art History etc. from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University.

 

Age Limit (For all above posts/discipline): Not more than 37 years as on 01/01/2016. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.

SC/ST and OBC candidates of other States will be treated as General candidates.

 

Pay Scales (For all above posts/discipline): Rs.15600/- – Rs.39100 and Grade Pay – Rs.6000/- per month.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Screening Test/ Written Test.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.210/- as Application Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Candidates applying first time for PSC West Bengal should click “One Time Registration” to generate user id and password and candidates who have already registered with PSCWB will need to login their dashboard to access the online application form. Do not submit more than one application form.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO PSC WEST BENGAL AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
