Public Service Commission, West Bengal, is recruiting Inspector of Factories (Medical), Geography Mistress , Assistant Director of Agriculture and Posts in the WB Agricultural Service (Research). Advertisement No. 6/2014. All posts are temporary but likely to be permanent. Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format only (See below). Educational qualification norms and details in brief are given below —

PSC – WEST BENGAL – RECRUITMENT OF INSPECTOR OF FACTORIES, GEOGRAPHY MISTRESS, ASST. DIRECTOR OF AGRI. & VARIOUS ASST. POST. LAST DATE – 22/04/2014

1. INSPECTOR OF FACTORIES (MEDICAL)
Number of Vacancies: 04 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Shall possess Medical qualification and shall be registered as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal. Candidates shall have Diploma in Industrial Health/ Public Health.
Age: Maximum 35yrs as on 01.01.2014. Relaxable for well qualified and experienced candidates.
Pay: Rs.15600—42000 and Grade Pay: Rs.6600/-

2. GEOGRAPHY MISTRESS 
Number of Vacancies: 01 Nos. (PWD – Blindness or Low Vision) (Female only)
Qualification: Second class Master’s Degree or Honours Degree in Geography
AND Degree in teaching or Education or equivalent (a candidate not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected shall have to acquire such qualifications within three years of joining the post)
AND Teaching experience in English medium in secondary schools, preferably residential ones, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidate
AND Ability to teach in English medium.
Age: Maximum 35yrs as on 01-01-2014. Relaxable for well qualified and experienced candidates

3. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURE
Number of Vacancies: 177 Nos. (Gen– 93; SC—38; ST—11; OBC_A—17; OBC_B—12; PWD—6)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with 4 (four) years degree course from a recognised University/Institute.
Age: Maximum 32yrs as on 01-01-2014
Pay: Rs.15600—42000 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

4. POSTS IN THE WEST BENGAL AGRICULTURAL SERVICE (RESEARCH)
Assistant Botanist: 24 Nos. (Gen—11; SC—5; ST—2; OBC—5; PWD—1)
Assistant Agricultural Chemist/ Analytical Chemist/ Jr. Soil Scientist: 8 Nos. (Gen-2; SC—2; ST—1; OBC—2; PWD—1)
Assistant Entomologist: 1 Nos. (SC)
Assistant Agronomist: 2 Nos. (SC—1; OBC_B—1)
Assistant Plant Pathologist/ Asst. Mycologist: 6 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—1; OBC_A—1)
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture AND Master’s Degree or equivalent in the following discipline (the candidate must have obtained first class in Bachelor’s Degree or in Master’s Degree)—
For (a) Botany / Genetics & Plant Breeding / Plant Physiology / Agricultural Botany / Seed Science & Technology;
For (b) Agricultural Chemistry / Bio-Chemistry / Soil & Water Conservation / Soil Physics / Soil Survey / Microbiology / Agricultural Chemicals;
For (c) Entomology;
For (d) Agronomy;
For (e) Mycology / Plant Pathology.
Age: Maximum 35yrs as on 01-01-2014. Relaxable for departmental candidates as well as for well qualified and experienced candidates.
Pay: Rs.15600—42000 and Grade Pay – Rs.5400/-

NOTE: CANDIDATES SHALL HAVE ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI (NOT APPLICABLE FOR NEPALI SPEAKING CANDIDATES FROM THE HILL AREAS OF THE DISTRICT OF DARJEELING). THIS WILL BE TESTED AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW.

AGE RELAXATION & RESERVATION:
The benefits of reservation of vacancies and upper age concession upto 5 years are admissible only to S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal and upto 3 years to O.B.C. (category ‟A‟ or „B‟) candidates of West Bengal. S.C., S.T. and B.C. candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. Such benefits are also available upto 45 years for Persons with Disabilities.

APPLICATION FEE:
Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies shall pay Application Fee of Rs.210/- only by Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.

NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST & PWD CANDIDATES. SUCH CANDIDATES SHALL ENCLOSE CASTE CERTIFICATE/ DISABILITY CERTIFICATE WITH THE APPLICATION FORM.

HOW TO APPLY: 
Interested and eligible candidates may apply only on prescribed application format (See the PDF file given below) along with Self-Attested or Gazetted Officer attested copies of testimonials in support of — (i) Madhyamik or equivalent certificate. (ii) S.C./S.T./O.B.C. (category ‟A‟ or „B‟)/Persons with Disability certificate issued by competent authority. (iii) Registration certificate for citizenship (if by registration) as required under item 9(b) of the application, (iv) Mark-sheet and certificate for each examination passed, (v) Registration certificate as Medical Practitioner & (vi) Experience certificate (if any) and Etc.
CANDIDATES MUST ENCLOSE TWO SELF-ADDRESSED UNSTAMPED ENVELOPES AND ONE SELF-ADDRESSED POST CARD WITH THE APPLICATION.

Candidates who wish to apply for more than one category of posts should submit separate Application along with requisite fees for each.
