The Non-Teaching posts were on temporary basis but likely to permanent whereas the Teaching Posts are on permanent basis. Qualification Required (for above posts in Sl.No.1 to 05): —
Essential Qualification: For posts at Sl.No. 1(a to i), 2(b to d), 3(a to e) & 4(a to g) & 5 (a, c & d) Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree from a recognised University in appropriate subjects viz. Political Science, English, Philosophy, Commerce, History, Chemistry, Mathematics, Bengali, Physics, Urdu, Economics, Arabic, Geography & Statistics as the case may be. For post at Item No. 1 ( j ), 2(a) & 5(b) Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree from a recognised University in Zoology with Botany as a subsidiary subject in the Degree Course or A Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Botany with Zoology as a subsidiary subject in the degree course or A Second Class Honours or Second Class Master’s Degree of a recognised University in Physiology with Botany and Zoology as subsidiary subjects in the Degree Course. For posts at item No. 4(h) (Computer Science) – Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Computer Science/Master of Science in Computer Science; Or Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Technology/Computer Science and Information Technology/Computer Science and Engineering; ; Or Master of Engineering/Master of Technology in Computer Science and Technology/Computer Science and Information Technology/Computer Science and Engineering; Or Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Major) or Master of Science in Information Technology (Major).
Desirable : Degree in Teaching/Education or its equivalent (candidates not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected will draw the initial pay of time scale on an ad-hoc basis till obtaining the same.)
Pay scale: For all the posts at item no. 1, 2, & 3 Rs.9,000/- – Rs.40,500/- with Grade Pay Rs.4,800/- for candidates with Master’s Degree and Rs.9,000/- – Rs.40,500/- with Grade Pay Rs.4,700/- for candidates with Honours Degree.
6. PASS GRADUATE TEACHER (BENGALI MEDIUM)
a) ARTS: 5 Nos. (Gen—2; SC—1; OBC-A—1; OBC-B—1)
b) SCIENCE: 5 Nos. (Gen—3; ST—1; OBC-A—1)
Qualification: Bachelor of Arts from a recognised University for post at item No. 6(a); & Bachelor of Science from a recognised University for post at item No. 6(b); ii) Degree in Teaching/Education or its equivalent. iii) Knowledge in Bengali – Spoken and Written.
Pay scale: Rs. 7,100/— Rs. 37,600 /- with Grade Pay Rs. 4,100/-
7. DRAWING MISTRESS (BENGALI MEDIUM) : 1 Nos. (OBC-A—1; Female only)
Qualification: i) Diploma in Art from Govt. College of Art and Craft or from Kala Bhawan, Viswa Bharati or equivalent; ii) Proficiency in more than one branch of craft; iii) Knowledge in Bengali – Spoken and Written.
Pay scale: (i) Rs. 7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs. 4,100/- for Diploma holders from Government College of Art and Craft and (ii) Rs. 7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs. 3,900/- for other Diploma holders.
8. MUSIC MISTRESS (Bengali Medium) in the West Bengal Subordinate Educational Service: 1 Nos. (ST—Female only)
Qualification: A degree in Music from an Indian University or a diploma in Music from a recognised institution through a whole-time course of not less than three years or a part-time course of not less than four years; (ii) Training in Rabindra Sangit; (iii) Proficiency in more than one branch of Music; (iv) Knowledge in Bengali – Spoken & Written.
Pay scale: Rs. 7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- plus Grade Pay Rs.3,900/-
AGE LIMITS (for all above Teaching posts): maximum 32yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation is as per norms and on basis of Qualification.
Selected Candidates may be posted in Govt. School/Madrasah in West Bengal and their services are transferable
NON-TEACHING POSTS.
9. Maintenance Superintendent: 1 Nos. (Gen—Male only)
Qualification: A diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering from a recognised University / Institute or equivalent qualifications. ( ii) Five years practical experience in Automobile Engineering in a Government Transport Organization/ Undertaking or in a private Motor Transport Organization of repute, relaxable for Degree holders in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
DESIRABLE : (i) Experience in maintenance of car-air-conditioning units, (ii) Knowledge of Bengali-spoken & written) , (iii) Motor driving licence for light and heavy transport vehicles.
Age: maximum 35 years on 01.01.2012. Upper age relaxation may be given as per Qualification and experience in the field.
10. Agricultural Marketing Officer (Jute Grading: 1 Nos. (OBC-A)
Qualification: B.Sc. with Agriculture or B.Sc. with Diploma in Jute Technology from a recognised University or Institute or B.Sc. from recognized University with 2 years’ experience in Jute Grading works under an organization of repute dealing with Jute Marketing or under a licensed Baler.
Age: Maximum 32yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation may be given as per Qualification and experience in the field.
11. Assistant Librarian: 1 Nos.
Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree of a recognised University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science of a recognised University or its equivalent. (ii) At least 1(one) year’s experience of work in a Public or an Institutional Library of repute. (iii) Knowledge of Bengali or Nepali – Spoken and Written
Age: maximum 35yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation may be given as per Qualification and experience in the field.
APPLICATION FEE (For all above posts): Interested candidates must prepare an Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) of Rs.160 in favour of — The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal and payable at – GPO Kolkata. OR fee can be paid by a Receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”.
SC/ST and PH candidates do not require to pay Application fee.
Upper age relaxation: OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs; PH—10yrs. Age relaxation is only applicable to the candidates residing in West Bengal. Candidates from other States may apply as General Candidates.
How to Apply: Apply on prescribed Application format. Application Form can be also neatly typed on plain paper but should be strictly according to the format.
Candidates willing to apply for more than one post may submit separate Application Form for each post as well should pay Application fee separately. Candidates must not apply more than once for same post.
Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination/ Screening Test.

(ii) S.C./S.T./B.C./Persons with Disability certificate issued by competent authority.
