RBU – Rabindra Bharati University recruits Indian nationals for the roles of Research Assistants for University Research Projects (URPs). The posts are on a solely temporary basis (tenure based). Candidates are requested to read all the instructions issued by the university and then apply online. Details are given below:

Research Assistant in English Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
Clinical Psychology M.A./M.Sc. with at least 55% (or 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicants) marks from any UGC-recognized university; and
Preferable:
- NET in Psychology
- Computer literacy, keyboarding skills, and fieldwork experience
Research Assistant in the School of Vedic Studies – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in Sanskrit or Bengali from a UGC-recognized institution with a minimum of 55% marks (or 50% for applicants who are SC/ST/OBC/PWD) and an understanding of manuscriptology and paleography.
Favorable Expertise in interpreting scripts, particularly Devanagari, and dealing with Sanskrit manuscripts; proficiency with computers, typing, and fieldwork.
Research Assistant in Bengali Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in Bengali with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) from any UGC recognized University and
Desirable:
- NET in Bengali
- Knowledge in computer operation, typing, and field-work experience
Research Assistant in History Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
History M.A. from a UGC-recognized institution with a least 55% grade point average (or 50% for those who are SC/ST/OBC/PWD).
NET in History
Computer literacy, keyboarding skills, and fieldwork experience
Research Assistant in Economics Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A./M.Sc. in Economics with at least 55% marks (or 50% for applicants who are SC, ST, OBC, or have a disability) from any university recognized by the UGC
NET in Economics;
Computer literacy, keyboarding skills, and fieldwork experience
Research Assistant in Hindi Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in Hindi with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) from any UGC recognized University
NET in Hindi;
Knowledge in computer operation, typing, and field-work experience
Research Assistant in Vocal Music Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in Vocal Music with at least 55% (or 50% for those who are SC, ST, OBC, or have a disability) at any UGC-recognized institution.
Knowledge of typing, computer use, and expertise in the field.
Research Assistant in Rabindra Sangeet Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in Rabindra Sangeet with at least 55% (or 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicants) in any UGC-recognized university.
Knowledge of typing, computer use, and expertise in the field.
Research Assistant in Drama Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.A. in drama with at least 55% (or 50% for those who are SC, ST, OBC, or have a disability) at any UGC-recognized institution.
Experience creating costumes for stage productions.
Computer literacy, keyboarding skills, and previous fieldwork experience.
Research Assistant in Applied Art Department – 01
Educational Qualification:
M.F.A. in Applied Art with at least 55% (or 50% for applicants who are SC, ST, OBC, or have a disability) at any UGC-recognized institution.
Knowledge of typing, computer use, and expertise in the field.
Monthly Pay:
Rs.8000/-p.m.(Consolidated pay). Pay is the same for all above the posts.
Application Fees:
Rs. 200/- for all posts mentioned above.
How to Apply:
The University’s website, www.rbu.ac.in, will have the application forms available for download by the qualified candidates. The application form must be sent with a non-refundable demand draught or pay the order for Rs. 200/- made out to “Rabindra Bharati University” and payable in Kolkata.
Submission of Application:
Demand draughts or pay orders must be submitted positively by 5:00 p.m. on 24.4.2023 to the Office of the Development Officer at 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata-700050 along with five copies of the properly filled out Application Form (one original and four photocopies), along with one set of self-attested photocopies of the mark sheets of all examinations passed, certificates, caste certificates, if applicable, NET certificates, etc.
