1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
No. of Vacancies: 10 Nos. (SC-01, ST-01, OBC-04, EWS-02, UR-02)
Educational Qualification: i) A Doctorate degree from a recognized University in Meteorology/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Oceanography/ Physics/ Applied Physics/ Geophysics with Meteorology as main subject/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics/ or equivalent subjects.
ii) Well acquainted in computer programming, Linux etc. and having publications in peer reviewed journals related to atmospheric/ oceanic/ climate sciences.
iii) Candidate should have minimum 60% aggregate mark in the Master’s degree.
Desirable: Demonstrated skill in weather and climate modeling/ observational techniques and data analysis etc. supported by peer reviewed publications.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 30/04/2020.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.47000 per month
2. RESEARCH FELLOW
No. of Vacancies: 20 Nos. (SC-02, ST-04, OBC-04, EWS-05, UR-05)
Educational Qualification: i) Post Graduate degree with minimum 60% marks in (Physical Sciences (includes Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Climate Science/ Geophysics with Meteorology as one of the subject/ Environmental Sciences/ Electronics/ or equivalent subjects)/ Chemical Sciences (includes Chemistry/ Physical Chemistry/ Inorganic Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ or equivalent subjects)/ Mathematical Sciences (includes Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ statistics/ or equivalent subjects) with CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship)/ GATE.
OR
M.Tech. with minimum 60% marks in (Atmospheric/ Oceanic Sciences or equivalent subject) with CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship)/ GATE/ qualified OR Master degree with minimum 60% marks from any branch of Engineering along with CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship)/ GATE/ qualified.
ii) Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC-NET (including Lectureship)/ GATE and appeared for final year of M.Sc./ M.S./ M.Tech./ M.E. can also apply. Candidates should have studied Physics or Mathematics at Bachelor’s degree.
iii) Candidates who have qualified through processes held at National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions can also apply for the post.
Desirable: Demonstrated computer programming Linux, UNIX, Windows/ Fortran/ C etc.
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 30/04/2020.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.31000 per month
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and Interview wherever applicable. The Written Examination and Interview will be held in May- June 2020.
