Educational & Technical Qualification
Candidates must have passed SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board, and must have passed ITI in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India. Candidates whose SSC/Matriculation/10th and ITI results are awaited as on the date of notification (07.07.2026) are not eligible to apply. Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply, as they are governed by a separate Apprenticeship scheme.

RRC NCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection of eligible Applicants for training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 will be based on a merit list prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both. There will be no written test or viva.
- Shortlisted candidates, to the extent of 1.5 times the notified vacancies, will be called for document/certificate verification.
- In case of a tie in marks, the applicant with older age will be preferred; if the date of birth is also the same, the applicant who passed matriculation earlier will be considered first.
- The final merit list will be prepared Unit-wise, Trade-wise, and Community-wise, in descending order of average weightage marks, equal to the number of slots.
- Final selection is subject to verification of original testimonials/certificates and a Medical Fitness Certificate.
- Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 1 (one) year and will be paid a stipend during training as per extant rules of the concerned State Government and Railway Board instructions.
