Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) — Bhilai Steel Plant is inviting application from the eligible candidates for the post of “Operator cum Technician (Trainee)” for its plant in discipline of Metallurgy, Electrical, Mech/ Mechtronics, Computer Science/IT, Electronics and Instrumentation. OPERATOR CUM TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE)
Number of Vacancies: 330 Nos.  (Gen—120; SC—39; ST—105; OBC—19; Ex-Servicemen—47)

Number of Vacancies as per discipline wise —
— Metallurgy: 58 Nos.
— Electrical: 25 Nos.
— Mechanical/ Mechtronics: 167 Nos.
— Computer Science/ IT: 05 Nos.
— Electronics: 65 Nos.
— Instrumentation: 10 Nos.

Educational Qualification: Matriculation with Three year’s full time Diploma in Engineering in relevant discipline.
Candidates appearing for final examination are also eligible but will have to produce certificate at the time of Interview.

Age Limit: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 28yrs as on 01-09-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Consolidated Pay (During Training period): Rs.10700/- per month in first year and Rs.12200/- per month in second year. Other allowances will be provided as per norms.
Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of 2 years and on successful completion of training period they shall be absorbed in regular posts.

Candidates’ Selection: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Written Test, information for which will be provided in the Admit Card. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be intimated to appear in Interview.
Tentative date of written test will be confirmed in Admit Card in due course.

After successful submission of online Application form, candidates must print-out the system generated Registration Slip which will appear on the computer screen with unique Registration Number.

Application Fee: Rs.250/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Fee is to be paid by means of fee payment challan which can be downloaded from the SAIL’s website during online Application form. Deposit the fee through any branch of State Bank of India.
