Number of Vacancies: 132 Nos. (Gen—63; SC—20; ST—32; OBC—17). Out of total vacancies, 11 is reserved for PWD candidates.

Educational Qualification: Matriculation pass and 03 years full time Engineering Diploma in the relevant discipline.
Candidates opting for survey stream may have a full time 3 year Diploma in Survey or Civil Engineering
Age Limit: maximum 28yrs as on 01-12-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Physical Standards of the candidates (in Minimum) —
Male candidates: Height—155; Weight—45kgs; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—75cms/ 79cms.
Female candidates: Height—143cms , Weight—35kgs; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)—70/75cms.
Eye sight: 6/9 both eyes with or without glasses. Color vision should be normal.
Candidates’ Selection: Eligible candidates will be required to appear in Written Examination. On the basis of their performance in the Written Examination they will be called for Interview. Date and venue of Written examination will be intimated in due course as well as details will be available in SAIL’s website.
Candidates selected as Operator-cum-Technician Trainee will be placed on training for a period of 2 Years which may be extended by another two years as per requirement. On successful completion of training period, they shall be regularized as Operator-cum-Technician in S-3 Grade. After successful completion of Training, Candidates shall be placed under probation for 1 year.
Emoluments and other Benefits: Candidates selected as Operator-cum-Technician Trainee will be paid consolidated Pay of Rs. 10700/-pm during 1st year of training and Rs. 12200/-pm during the 2nd year of training. During the period of 2 years training, trainees will also get Medical facility for self , spouse and dependent children. Leave etc will be as per the rules of the company.

Application & Processing fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Rs.250/- (Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PWD) through any branch of State Bank of India by means of Pay in Slip (SBI Challan). Candidates may download the challan the from the SAIL’s website after filling the basic details on the application form.
