Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Durgapur Steel Plant- West Bengal, as per Advt.No. DSP/Pers/Rectt/2011-12, is recruiting 122 boys and girls for the post of — Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation), Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee – Cable Jointing). Diploma in Engineering candidates and Matriculation with ITI candidates may apply for the post. Application form is to be submitted through Online system from the website of SAIL within prescribed date. Brief details of eligibility criteria is given below—
1. Operator-cum-Technician – Boiler Operation: 6 Nos.
Qualification: Diploma in Engineering with first class Boiler Attendant Certificate of Competency and with minimum experience of one year.
Age: within 30yrs as on 1/3/2012
2. Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): 113 Nos. Discipline wise vacancies –
Metallurgy—25nos; Mechanical—50nos; Electrical—30nos and Electronics—08nos.
Qualification: 3yrs of fulltime Diploma in Engineering in respective discipline of above mentioned.
Age: within 28yrs as on 1/3/2012
3. Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee) – Cable Jointing: 3 Nos.
Qualification: Madhyamik pass with ITI in Electrical trade with cable jointing license from State Licensing Board for cables upto 33 KV and with minimum experience of one year.
Age: within 28yrs as on 1/3/2012.
Pay scale: After completion of training period of 2yrs; pay scale will be – Rs.9160 to Rs.13150 (for Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Rs.8630 to Rs.12080 (for Attendant-cum-Technician – Cable Jointing). There will be other admissible allowances.
Reservation and Relaxation: Reservation of posts and relaxation of Age for OBC/SC/ST/PH and other categories is as per norms.
Physical Standards (For all Posts):—
Height -155 cm. (for males) and 143 cm. (for females)
Weight– 45 Kg.(for males) and 35 Kg. (for females)
Chest– 75 cm & 79 cm on expansion (for males) and 70 cm & 73 cm on expansion (for females)
Distant Vision– 6/9both eyes with or without glasses
Hearing – Normal (Relaxable up to 30 dB in speech frequency)
Color vision should be normal and candidates must have sound health and mentally fit. There will be medical examination for fitness.
Selection steps: Candidates will have to go through Written Test which will be of Objective type. If qualified then will be shortlisted for Interview. Finally there will be Medical examination.
Written Test will be hold at Kolkata. Exact date and venue will be intimated to the eligible candidates. All correspondence will be made through email. Candidates may download their Call letter for written examination from the website of SAIL in due times.

Operator cum Technician & Operator cum Technician (Trainee): Rs.250 (Rs.50 only for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
Attendant cum Technician (Trainee): Rs.150 (Rs.50 only for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

After final submission of Online Application form; a system generated Registration Slip will appear on the screen. Print-out this Registration Slip and retain safely for future references.
There is no need to send any Application form/Documents by post. All the verification will be made during Written Test/ Interview.
