SAIL- Rourkela Steel Plant: Operator and Attendant cum Technician (Trainee). ITI and Diploma candidates may apply.

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), Odisha is recruiting 745 persons for the post of “Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)” and “Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)”. Advt.No. 01/2012. Madhyamik candidates with ITI or Diploma in Engineering may apply for the post. Details below—

1. Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)
Posts: 220 Nos. (Gen-111, OBC-26, SC-35, ST-48) out of which 10 posts for Person with Disability (PWD)

Metallurgy: 72 Nos. (SC- 11, ST-15, OBC-8, Gen- 38) out of them PH-2nos.
Chemical: 26 Nos. (SC-4, ST-6, OBC- 4, Gen-12) out of them PH- 1 Nos.
Ceramics: 05 Nos. (SC- 1, ST- 1, Gen- 3) out of then PH-1 Nos.
Mechanical: 62 Nos. (SC- 10, ST- 14, OBC- 7, Gen- 31) out of them PH- 2nos.
Electrical: 30 Nos. (SC- 5, ST- 6, OBC- 4, Gen- 15) out of them PH- 1nos.
Instrumentation: 15 Nos. (SC-2, ST- 4, OBC- 2, Gen- 7) out of them PH- 1nos.
Civil: 05nos. (SC- 1, ST- 1, Gen – 3) out of them PH-1nos.
Electronics: 05 Nos. (SC- 1, ST- 1, OBC- 1, Gen- 2) out of them PH-1nos.


Required Qualification: Matric & Diploma in Engineering (3 years full time) in the discipline of Metallurgy/Chemical/Ceramics/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Civil/Electronics
Pay Scale: After successful completion of training, Rs.9160 – Rs.13150

2. Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)
Posts: 525 posts. (Gen-262, SC-84, ST-116, OBC-63) Out of them PH-19nos.
Vacancies according to Trade wise given below—
Fitter: 156 Nos. (SC- 25, ST- 34, OBC- 19, Gen- 78) out of which PH-5nos.
Electrician: 117 Nos. (SC- 19, ST- 26, OBC- 14, Gen- 58) out of them PH-4nos.
Welder: 85 Nos. (SC-14, ST- 19, OBC- 10, Gen- 42) out of them PH-3nos.
Machinist: 50 Nos. (SC-8, ST- 11, OBC- 6, Gen- 25) out of them PH-2nos.
Turner: 45 Nos. (SC- 7, ST- 10, OBC- 5, Gen- 23) out of them PH-1nos.
Instrumentation: 36  Nos. (SC-5, ST- 8, OBC- 5, Gen- 18) out of them PH -1nos.
Electronics: 20 Nos. (SC- 4, ST- 4, OBC- 2, Gen- 10) out of them PH-1nos.
Refrigeration & AC: 06 Nos. (SC-1, ST- 1, OBC- 1, Gen- 3) out of them PH-1nos.
Diesel Mechanic: 10 Nos. (SC-1, ST- 3, OBC- 1, Gen- 5) out of them PH-1nos.

Required Qualification: Matric & ITI (Full time) in the trade of Fitter /Electrician /Welder /Machinist / Turner /Instrumentation /Electronics /Refrigeration & AC /Diesel Mechanic.
Pay Scale: after successful completion of Training, Rs.8630—Rs.12080

Age limits for both above posts: 18yrs to 28yrs as on dated 1/11/2011. Age relaxation for OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PH-10yrs and Ex-Serviceman- as per norms.

Candidates selected for the above posts will be required to undergo, on the job training, for a period of 2(two) years.

Candidates’ selection: Candidates will be selected through Written Test. Date, time and venue of the examination will be informed later to the candidates.
The written test will be held at the following centres— Rourkela,  Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack,  Kolkata, Raipur, Jamshedpur.

Candidates will required to deposit Application fee of Rs. 250 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PH and Ex-serviceman) for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Rs.150 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PH and Ex-serviceman) for the post of Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee).
In addition to the application / processing fee as above, candidates will be required to pay an amount of Rs20/- (Rupees Twenty only) as Bank Charges.
The Fee challan can be downloaded from the official site of SAIL and fee can deposited in any branch of State Bank of India at the following Account No. 31955226331 of RSP, Rourkela.
During submission of application form, candidate will require to provide scan image of their signature and passport size photograph.
After submission of application form, a computer generated application with unique registration number will appear on the screen. Candidates should make print-out copy of this application and should write their name on the space provided without delay.

There is no need to send any documents by post. All the required documents will need to produce during Interview.
