Government of India, Ministry of Defence, for Metal and Steel Factory, Ishapore, is recruiting 80 persons for the post of “Semi-Skilled” in Group-C. The recruitment will be in various trades—Blacksmith, Boiler Attendant, Fitter General, Fitter Boiler, Fitter Instrument, Machinist, Millwright, Moulder, Mason Brick, Welder, Electrician, Grinder and Painter. Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent examination.
National Council of Trades for Vocational Training certificate in the relevant trade failing which by ITI or equivalent Diploma/Certificate holder. Candidate possessing the NCVT certificate in F&HT, MMTM and Foundry Man Trade are eligible to apply for the post of Semi-Skilled/Blacksmith, Millwright and Moulder Trade respectively.
Age: Within 18yrs to 32yrs as on 2-2-2012. Age relaxation—OBC-3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PH-10yrs and Ex-Serv.- as per norms.
Examination Fee: Candidates must prepare Indian Postal Order of Rs.50 in favour of – “The General Manager, or Demand Draft can be prepared in favour of—“The General Manager, Metal & Steel Factory, Ishapore” and payable at – “Kolkata”.
SC/ST/PH and Ex-Serviceman do not need to pay examination fee.
Candidates’ selection: Candidates will be selected through Written Test and Trade Test.
The syllabus for the written test for a trade will be broadly as that of the NCVT Examination syllabus for relevant trade. Questions will be set in English, Hindi and Bengali.
The syllabus for the trade test (Practical) will be of Semi-Skilled grade in relevant trade.
All eligible candidates will be called for Written Test and then qualified candidates from written test will be called for Trade/Practical Test.

- Attested copies of age and qualification documents
- Attested copies of caste certificate
- 4 Nos. recent passport size photograph with self-signed on it (one copy paste on application form, one copy paste on call letter and two copies attached with application after writing name and name of the post on its back side)
- 3 Self-Addressed envelope and 3 self addressed slips (7cm x 4cm)
- Original DD or IPO of Rs.50
On the top of the application containing envelope, subscribe in capital letters—Name of the Post, Category and Language for written examination.
All supporting documents viz SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Serviceman certificates duly attested by any Central/State Government Gazetted Officer/Principal/Head Master of the Government affiliated School/College.
