INDIAN ARMY, ARMY RECRUITING OFFICE JORHAT INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR SOLDIER GENERAL DUTY, SOLDIER TECHNICAL, SOLDIER CLERK/ STORE KEEPER TECHNICAL/ INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND SOLDIER TRADESMAN. LAST DATE — 03/01/2020
1. SOLDIER GENERAL DUTY
Educational Qualification: Class 10th/ Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 ½ years and maximum 21 years.
2. SOLDIER TECHNICAL
Educational Qualification: 10+2/ Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 ½ years and maximum 23 years.
3. SOLDIER CLERK/ STORE KEEPER TECHNICAL/ INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Educational Qualification: i) 10+2/ Intermediate exam pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject.
ii) Securing 50% in English and Maths/ Accounts/ Book Keeping in Class 12th is mandatory.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 ½ years and maximum 23 years.
4. SOLDIER TRADESMAN (10TH PASS)
Educational Qualification: i) Class 10th Simple pass.
ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored minimum 33% in each subject.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 ½ years and maximum 23 years.
5. SOLDIER TRADESMAN (8TH PASS)
Educational Qualification: i) Class 8th Simple pass (for Syce, House Keeper and Mess Keeper).
ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored minimum 33% in each subject.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 ½ years and maximum 23 years.
Army Recruitment Rally for the posts will be held from 19th January, 2020 to 24th January, 2020 at Meghna Sports Stadium, Solmara Military Station, Tezpur.
Only candidates of 10 districts of Upper Assam namely Jorhat, Majuli, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur and Karbi Anglong are eligible to apply.
Physical Standards:
(i) Height — 160 Cms (157 Cms for Soldier Technical); (ii) Chest (unexpanded) — 77 Cms; (iii) Chest (expanded) — 82 Cms; (iv) Weight — 48 Kgs.

Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement Test, Medical Test and Written Test through Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
