Indo- Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Under Ministry of Home Affairs, is recruiting 418 Meritorious Sportspersons (both male and female can apply) for the post of “Constable/ GD” in sports quota. Meritorious sportsperson who meets the below mentioned criteria may apply for the post. Application form is to be prepared as per prescribed format. Details below—
1. Constable/ GD: 418 Nos.
Qualification: Madhyamik (Class- 10) pass candidates from recognised board may apply.
Eligibility: Sportsperson who have represented a State or the Country in the National/ International competition OR who have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted y the Inter-University Sports Board OR who have represented the State Schools Team in the National Sports/ Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation, in any one of the below mentioned games may apply

Judo, Wushu, Wrestling, Power Lifting, Weight Lifting, Football, Boxing, Ice Hockey, Archery, Gymnastic, Kabaddi, Handball, Hockey, Athletics, Sports Shooting, Swimming, Karate, Volleyball, Basketball, Taekwondo, Equestrian, Water Sports and Skiing.

Physical Standard of the Candidates:-
Height for General Candidates: 170 cms (Male) and 157 cms (Female); Chest (unepanded/ expanded): 80cms/ 85cms.
Height for SC/ST candidates: 162.5 cms (Male) and 150 cms (Female); Chest (unepanded/ expanded): 76cms/ 81cms.
Height for Hill region candidates: 165 cms (male) and 155 cms (Female); Chest (unepanded/ expanded): 78cms/ 83cms.
Weight (For all): Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Medical Standard—vision: 6/6/ and 6/9 of both eyes without glasses in distant vision (minimum). Should not be color blindness and must not have physical defect which may hinder the performance of duty.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay – Rs.2000 per month
Age limit: between 18yrs to23yrs as on 7/5/2012. Age relaxation—OBC-3yrs; SC/ST-5yrs and Others- as per norms.
Application fee—Candidates are required to pay Rs.50 as application fee in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp or IPO or Bank Draft. In case of Bank Draft, it should be in favour of – “ Accounts Officer, Directorate General, ITB Police, New Delhi”, payable at—“SBI, R.K. Puram, New Delhi (Bank Code-1076)”. Candidates opting to pay fee through Recruitment Stamp should affix the CRF Stamp at specified space in the application form and then get it cancelled by clerk of the post office.
SC/ST and Female candidates do not require Fee .
How to Apply: Application form is to be prepared on plain paper as per prescribed format.
Candidates are to report at any one of the listed recruitment centre on 7th to 11th May 2011 with duly filled Application form and Admit card. Candidates should bring original documents as well as attested copies of documents with them such as – Educational Qualification Certificate, Sports Achievement, Date of Birth, SC/ST Certificate and any other relevant documents.

Enclosures—Candidates should attached the following enclosures, in Attested Copies, along with Application—
- Educational Certificate
- Age proof certificate (Madhyamik certificate can be given)
- Application fee of Rs.50 in form of Draft/ IPO or Central Recruitment fee stamp.
- Caste Certificate, for SC/ST/OBC (as prescribed in Annexure – III & IV)
- Two recent passport size photographs. One copy pasted on Application form and other in Admit card (duly Attested).
- Domicile Certificate issued by local revenue authorities for verification of citizenship.
- Two self- addressed envelope (4 x 9 inches) with affix postal stamp of Rs.5 on each.
- Sports Certificate
- NOC certificate if employee in Govt. sector
On the top of the application containing envelope, super scribe in bold—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE/ GD IN ITBP AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA”.
Selection Steps: for selection— (I) Verification of documents and Testimonials, (II) Physical Standard Test, (III) Test of Sports Performance and (IV) Medical Examination for fitness.
