SPORTSPERSON
No. of Vacancies: 21 Nos. (Level 4 and 5: 05 posts, Level 2 and 3: 16 posts)
Sport wise vacancies:
i) Athletics- 07 posts (Men-05, Women-02)
ii) Chess- 01 post (Men)
iii) Cricket- 03 posts (Women)
iv) Swimming- 01 post (Men)
v) Volleyball- 07 posts (Men-03, Women-04)
vi) Weightlifting- 02 posts (Men)
Educational Qualification:
i) For posts in Level 2 and 3:- 12th Pass (+2 stage).
ii) For posts in Level 4 and 5:- Graduation.
Sports Qualification:
The minimum sports norms for recruitment of Sportspersons in Level-2 to Level-5 will be as under-
A) For Level 4 and 5:
i) Represented the Country in Olympics Games (Senior Category)
OR
ii) Atleast 3rd position in any of the following Championships/ Events:-
a) World Cup (Junior/ Senior Category),
b) World Championships (Junior/ Senior Category),
c) Asian Games (Senior Category),
d) Commonwealth Games (Senior Category),
e) Youth Olympics.
B) For Level 2 and 3:
i) Represented the country in any of the following Championships/ Events:-
a) World Cup (Junior/ Senior Category),
b) World Championships (Junior/ Senior Category),
c) Asian Games (Senior Category),
d) Commonwealth Games (Senior Category),
e) Youth Olympics.
OR
ii) At least 3rd Position in any of the following Championships/ Events:-
a) Commonwealth Championship (Junior/ Senior Category),
b) Asian Championships/ Asia Cup (Junior/ Senior Category),
c) South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category),
d) USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior Category),
e) World University Games.
OR
iii) At least 3rd Position in Senior/ Youth/ Junior National Championships.
OR
iv) At least 3rd Position in National Games Organized under the Aegis of Indian Olympics Association.
OR
v) At least 3rd Position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the Ageis of Association of Indian Universities.
OR
vi) 1st Position in the Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category).
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01-01-2020.
Pay Scale: Rs.19900 — Rs.29200
Note: The recognised Sports achievements should be in the current and/ or immediate previous two financial years i.e. on or after 01-04-2017 and sportsperson should be an active player.
The vacancies are against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2019-20. The candidates will be selected for recruitment to posts in Level-2 to Level-5 pay matrix in Southern Railway.
The selected candidates will undergo Probation for a period of two years.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Trials, Assessment of recognised Sports Achievements as per norms and Educational Qualification.
