SASHASTRA SEEMA BAL (SSB) IS INVITING APPLICATION FOR 08 POSTS OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (VETERINARY) (MALE & FEMALE ). LAST DATE — 31/08/2015
1. Assistant Commandant (Veterinary): 08 Nos. (UR-5; OBC-3)
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry or equivalent from a recognized University with registration in the Veterinary Council of India.
Age Limit: Between 23 to 35 years of age as on 31/08/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- plus other allowances as per norms
Upper Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC candidates. 05yrs for domicile of J&K
Note: candidates of SC and ST categories who fulfill the eligibility criteria for general category may also apply for General category
Physical Standards:
(a) For Male: Height – 165 Cms; Chest (Unexpanded) – 81 Cms. & 86 Cms. (Expanded); Weight – 50 Kgs. (Subject to the proportion of height)
(b) For Female: Height – 157 Cms; Chest – Not applicable; Weight – According to height but not less than 46 Kgs.
Cut-off in Physical Standards for male and female candidates belonging to the races, namely, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Sikkimies, persons hailing from Leh and Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, J&K and North- Eastern States and the State of Himachal Pradesh, will be as per Govt. norms. Eye Sight (for all) – The minimum distance vision shall be 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing spectacles or lenses
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Candidates’ Selection: If the number of applicants applying for the post is in large numbers then SSB shall hold a written examination & Interview. Written Examination will be of two hours duration consisting of 100 multiple choice objective type questions of 200 marks to shortlist candidates for interview stage. The question paper will be of graduation level to assess knowledge of candidates in the subject of Veterinary Science. The qualifying marks in written examination will be 60 % for both General and OBC category.
In case limited number of applications are received, SSB shall conduct interviews directly, followed by PST/Detailed Medical Examination and Review Medical Examination
The post is temporary, but likely to continue. Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in the country according to transfer policy of the Force. The recruitment will be conducted on All India basis.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.50/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Bank Draft drawn in favour of PAO, SSB, MHA New Delhi, payable at State Bank of India, R.K. Puram, New Delhi (Branch Code- 01076).
NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST & FEMALE CANDIDATES CATEGORIES.
