Staff Selection Commission, Eastern Region – Kolkata, is inviting application for the Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Selection Post — Jr. Zoological Assistant, Scientific Assistant-I, Sub Editor and Library & Information Assistant. Advertisement No. ER-02/2013. Interested candidates may apply on the prescribed format with below scheduled date. Qualification norms and brief details is given below —

1. Junior Zoological Assistant: 1 Nos. (UR)
Qualification Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Science of a recognised University with Zoology as one of the subject.
Experience and knowledge of Zoological laboratory technique is desirable.
Age: Below 25 years
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 – 20200/-, Grade Pay Rs. 2800 /-

2. Scientific Assistant-I: 2 Nos. (OBC)
Qualification: B. Sc (Agriculture)
Age: between 18yrs to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 – 20200/-, Grade Pay Rs.2800/-

3. Sub Editor (Bengali): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Graduate and Degree in Librarianship (BLIS OR MLIS) or equivalent and with minimum 2yrs of experience of work in big library. The candidates must have studied Bengali as a subject at least upto Matriculation level.
Age: between 18yrs to 25yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5500/- – 9000/-

4. Library & Information Assistant (Reprography): 1 Nos. (Gen)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Physics and Chemistry and certificate in Photography.
Age: between 18yrs to 28yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300–34800/-, Grade Pay Rs.4200 /-

Upper age relaxation: The age of the candidates will be taken as on 29.07.2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Examination Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Rs.50/- by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” only. These stamps are available at the counter of all Post Offices of the country. These Recruitment Fee Stamps may be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose. These Recruitment Stamps must be got cancelled from the Counter Clerks of any Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Office.

SC/ST/ PH/Ex-servicemen and Women applicants are exempted from paying Examination fee.

Selection to the posts will be made on the basis of an Interview/ Personality Test/Skill Test. The exact selection procedure, date and venue will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course.
