SSC GD Constable in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination is a recruitment examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) of India to fill various posts in Central Forces. The Staff Selection Commission holds a competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR) and Sepoy in NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Home Affairs and the Staff Selection Commission. SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern
The computer-based examination consists of four distinct parts, each designed to assess a specific set of skills and knowledge areas.
In Part A, candidates face questions related to General Intelligence and Reasoning, with a total of 20 multiple-choice questions carrying a maximum of 40 marks. The time allocated for this section is 60 minutes.
Part B focuses on General Knowledge and General Awareness, requiring candidates to answer another 20 multiple-choice questions, also worth 40 marks.
Part C delves into Elementary Mathematics, featuring 20 multiple-choice questions with a maximum mark of 40.
Finally, Part D evaluates proficiency in either English or Hindi, depending on the candidate’s language preference, through 20 multiple-choice questions worth 40 marks.
The entire examination, comprising 80 questions and totaling 160 marks, unfolds within a timeframe of 60 minutes for Part A, with additional time allotted for the remaining sections. The exam emphasizes objective multiple-choice questions, and candidates can opt to answer in either English or Hindi. This comprehensive structure aims to comprehensively evaluate candidates across diverse subject areas.

SSC GD Constable 2023 PET
To appear in the PET Candidates will have to qualify for the SSC GD Online CBT Exam. After qualifying the following requirements will needed for the candidates.
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is a significant step in the selection process after the Computer Based Examination (CBE). Candidates who perform well in the CBE are shortlisted for PET, which is conducted at specified centers by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). During PET, candidates undergo races that must be completed within set time limits. The time limits vary for men and women, and there are specific requirements for candidates from the Ladakh Region.
For Ex-servicemen who pass the CBE, PET involves measuring height, chest, and weight. Ex-servicemen are exempt from the race but must still pass a medical examination.
In the race, male candidates must complete a 5-kilometer run in 24 minutes, while female candidates have to finish a 1.6-kilometer run in 8½ minutes. For candidates from Ladakh, the time limits are 1.6 kilometers in 6½ minutes for males and 800 meters in 4 minutes for females.
It’s important to note that if a woman candidate is found to be pregnant during the tests, she is temporarily declared unfit. However, after childbirth, she can undergo a re-examination for PET, and if she passes, she may be appointed to the reserved position with seniority benefits.
The PET is a crucial evaluation of physical fitness, and candidates should be aware of the specific requirements and time limits for their respective categories.
SSC GD Constable 2023 PST
The Physical Standard Test (PST) is a vital stage in the selection process following the Computer Based Examination (CBE) of the SSC GD Constable Examination 2023. After successfully navigating the CBE, candidates undergo the PST, where their physical attributes such as height, chest, and weight are meticulously assessed. The PST is conducted at designated centers determined by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
For male candidates, the height requirement is 170 cm, while female candidates need to meet a height criterion of 157 cm. However, certain categories of candidates are granted relaxations, with varied height standards. Chest measurements apply only to males, with the unexpanded chest requirement being 80 cm and a minimum expansion of 5 cm. Relaxations in chest measurements are granted to specific categories.
The weight requirement is proportionate to height and age as per established medical standards. Scrutiny of eligibility for height and chest measurements, including the provision of relaxations, occurs post-qualification in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and before the PST. Candidates who do not meet the specified physical standards have the option to appeal on the same day to the Appellate Authority designated for the center.
It is essential for candidates to be aware of the specific physical standards applicable to their category and to adhere to the established criteria during the PST. The entire conduct of the PST, along with subsequent Document/Medical Examination, falls under the responsibility of the CAPFs, and the decisions made during these stages are considered final with no further avenues for appeal or representation.
