Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to recruits 534 “STENOGRAPHERS (Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’)” through Combined All India Open Examination. The Examination will be Objective Type followed by Stenography Skill Test. Interested and eligible candidates may apply for the examination through prescribed application format (See below). Educational norms and brief details are given below —

SSC – STENOGRAPHERS (GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’) EXAMINATION-2014 FOR RECRUITMENT OF STENOGRAPHERS. LAST DATE – 27/06/2014.

STENOGRAPHERS (GRADE ‘C’ & ‘D’) EXAMINATION, 2014
Number of vacancies to be filled through this Examination are as follows
1. Stenographers Grade  ‘C’ : 38 Nos. (UR-27,SC-1,ST-06,OBC-4). Out of them 1 PH (OH)
2. Stenographers Grade ‘D’: 496 Nos. (UR-300, SC-62, ST-33, OBC-Cat-I01). Out of them 13 PH (OH/VH) and 19 Ex-Servicemen.

The candidates through this Combined All India Open Examination will be recruited to the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’.
Vacancies of Stenographer Grade “C” are in Ministries/Departments of Central Government, located mostly in Delhi. And vacancies of Stenographer Grade “D” are for Ministries/Departments of Central Government including Attached/Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.

Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary/ Class 12 passed or equivalent. Candidates awaiting result may also appear.
Please Note: Candidates qualifying the Examination will go for skill test in Stenography which will be as follows — (i) For Stenographer Gr-‘C’: 100 words per minute in Stenography and (ii) For Stenographer Gr-‘D’: 80 words per minute in Stenography.

Age Limit: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 27yrs as on 01-08-2014. i.e. candidates born not before 02-08-1987 and not later than 01-08-1996.
The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD- Un-reserved (UR), 13 years for PWD-OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) and 15 years for PWD-SC/ST candidates.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Stenography Test only. Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination.
Written Examination will be Objective type and will be of 200 Marks. Subject will be – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language & Comprehension. The paper will be set in English and Hindi only.
There will be negative marking for wrong answer.
Staff Selection Commission will hold on Sunday, the 14th September 2014.

Examination Fee: Rs.100/- only
Candidates submitting their application through online mode shall pay the Fee through online system such as using Credit/Debit card or Net banking or SBI Fee Challan.
Candidates submitting their application on hard copy (offline mode) shall pay the fee by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)”only which can be purchased from the Post Offices and can be pasted on the application.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply Online or Offline (by Post).
Online Application: To Apply Online, candidates will require to submit online application only through the official website of SSC – http://ssconline.nic.in/.  (See live URL given below)
The Online application will be in two steps – Part-I and Part-II.
In Part I registration, candidate will have to fill basic information. Upon submission of Part-I Application, Registration No. shall be generated. Note down registration number or take out the print out of the page. The application procedure is incomplete without part II registration.
Part II registration requires filling of payment details, uploading of photograph and scanned signature. Candidates may note that the Registration number given by the Commission and Transaction ID of the Bank should be properly entered in the relevant space, failing which it will not be possible to link the payment with Part I registration.
On-line application will be complete only if scanned signature and photo are uploaded as per instructions.

Offline Application Mode: To Apply offline (by Post), candidates may download the prescribed application format from the commission’s website (See URL below). The duly filled Application form is to be sent to the commission.

Important Dates for Online Mode Application:
Last date of Part-I Registration of Online Application: 25/06/2014 (5PM)
Last date of Part-II Registration of Online Application: 27/06/2014 (5PM)

Important Dates for Offline Mode Application (By Post)
The duly application shall reach on or before 27/06/2014 (upto 5 PM) (03/07/2014 for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir State, Lahaul-Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)
