Educational Qualification: i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL) and PWD category candidates of H.P) in Master’s Degree from recognized Universities/ Institutions in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications.
ii) Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply.
iii) The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) will be conducting State Eligibility Test- 2019 for determining the eligibility for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor in Universities and colleges located within the State of Himachal Pradesh. Reserved Category candidates from the states other than Himachal Pradesh will be treated as General Category candidates.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Test consisting of two papers namely Paper-I and Paper-II. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions. The Test will be conducted at various examination centers located at Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Dharamshala,
Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Nahan, Una, Kullu and Chamba.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Examination Fee of Rs. 700/- for General/ EWS candidates, Rs. 350/- for OBC (NCL) and Rs.175/- for SC/ ST/ BPL/ PWD/ EWS BPL candidates. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO HIMACHAL PRADESH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (HPPSC) AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
