WEST BENGAL COLLEGE SERVICE COMMISSION (WBCSC) INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR UGC ACCREDITED STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST (SET) FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR. LAST DATE — 30/09/2019
STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST (SET)
Educational Qualification: i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% marks for OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PWD candidates) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from recognised Universities/ Institutions.
ii) Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.
iii) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%).
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for SET.
The candidates who qualify the State Eligibility Test (SET) will be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in Universities and Colleges of West Bengal only.
The State Eligibility Test (SET) will be conducted in the following 30 subjects:- English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Commerce, Economics, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Education, Chemical Sciences, Geography, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Library & Information Science, Physical Education, Electronic Science, Computer Science, Home Science, Santhali, Mass Communication & Journalism. Anthropology, Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean & Planetary Sciences, Music, Law and Nepali.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through State Eligibility Test (SET) consisting of two papers i.e., Paper-I & Paper-II. The Test for both Paper-I & Paper-II will be held on 19th January, 2020. The Test will be conducted at various centres of different Districts of West Bengal. For details please see the Official Advt.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for OBC/EWS & Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates) as Examination Fee.
