Office of the District Judge, Purba Medinipur, Tamluk (West Bengal ) is inviting application form from the eligible Indian Citizens for 54 Nos. vacant posts of – English Stenographer, Lower Division Clerk, Typist-Copiest, Peon/Night Guard/Farash and Sweeper. Eligible and interested candidates may apply on prescribed Application format. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria in brief is given below —

1. English Stenographer (Group B): 11 Nos. (Gen—5; SC—3; OBC—2).
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and minimum speed of 80 words per minute  in Shorthand for six minutes and followed by transcription in own handwriting with one hour and a minimum speed of 30 words per minute  in typewriting in English for 10 minutes.
Candidates must have certificate in Computer Training and satisfactory fingering speed in computer.
Pay scale: Rs.7100—37600 and Grade pay: Rs.3900/-

2. Lower Division Clerk (Group C): 5 Nos. (Gen—3; ST—1; OBC-A—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and knowledge in typewriting in English is preferable.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600/-

3. Typist-Copiest (Group C): 9 Nos. (Gen—5; SC—3; OBC—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass and minimum typin speed of 40 words per minute in English.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade pay: Rs.2600/-

4. Peon/ Night Guard/ Farash (Group D): 28 Nos. (Gen—15; SC—6; ST—1; OBC—6)
Qualification: Class VIII pass. For Night Guard, candidates must have sound health, good physique and free from any bodily infirmity and defect.
Pay scale: Rs.4900—16200

5. Sweeper (Group D): 1 (ST)
Qualification: Ability to read and write Bengali.
Pay scale: Rs.4900—16200

Age Limits: between 18yrs to 37yrs (For Stenographer posts) and between 18yrs to 40yrs for rest of the vacancies. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC is as per Govt. norms.

The appointment will be made initially on temporary basis but is likely to be made permanent. Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Trade test/typing skill/ shorthand test (as applicable).
For the post of Sweeper, candidates’ selection will be on basis of Interview.

Application fees—
For the posts in Group B and Group C— Rs.200/- (Rs.50 in case of SC/ST candidates)
For the posts in Group D— Rs.100/- (Rs.25 in case of SC/ST)
Application fee can be paid in form of Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favour of the District Judge, Purba Medinipur and payable at Tamluk Head Post Office.
SC/ST/OBC candidates of Other State must apply as General Candidates.

Candidates should enclose attested copies (attestation by Gazetted Officer) of testimonials and document in support of eligibility, 2 nos passport size photograph duly signed by the candidates (one in the Application form and other in the Admit Card), One self-addressed envelope (25cmX11cm) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.5/- and Postal Order.
