Stewards, Cook & Topass in Indian Navy for MR/NMR 01/2012 Batch. Last Dt. 06/07 and 13/07/2012

The Indian Navy is recruiting some unmarried Male candidates for the post of – “Stewards”, “Cooks” and “Topasses” for MR/NMR 01/2013 Batch. Course will commence on 8th April 2013. Madhyamik pass and Class VI pass candidates may apply for the post. Application format can be downloaded from the official website of Indian Navy and is to be send within the prescribed date. Eligibility criteria and brief details is given below—

STEWARDS, COOKS AND TOPASSESS FOR MR/NMR 01/2013 BATCH, THE INDIAN NAVY.

1. Stewards
Qualification: Madhyamik (Class 10) pass

2. Cooks
Qualification: Madhyamik (Class 10) pass

3. Topasses
Qualification: Class- VI pass.

Age limits: candidates should be within 17yrs to 21yrs as on 1/4/2012.

Pay Scale: During training period, stipend of Rs.5700 per month will be given and after successful completion of training, pay scale will be as per norms.

Selection Steps: Selection of Candidates will be made through Written Test, Physical Fitness Test and Medical Examinations.
For the post of Stewards and Cooks, the written test will be on following four subjects—(i) English, (ii) Maths, (iii) Science and (iv) General Knowledge, whereas for the post of Topasses, the questions will be on —(i) General Awareness and (ii) Arithmetic.
Examination will be at following cities—New Delhi, Dehradun, Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata and Port Blair.

Physical Fitness Test: Candidates qualified from Written test will be eligible for following Physical Fitness Test—
(I). 1.6 KM run to be completed within 7 minutes
(II) 20 times Squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and
(III) 10 times Push-ups.

Physical Standards and Fitness: —
Height: 157 cms (Relaxation in height will be given to the Tribal candidates as per norms)
Chest: should have ability to expand by 5 cms
Weight: proportional to Height and Age as per medical standards
Candidates should be physically and mentally fit and free from any disease/disability which may hinder the performance of duty.

Eye Sight: —
For the post of Cooks and Stewards:  6/36 with better eyes and 6/36 for worse eye (with Glasses—Better eye: 6/9 and Worse eye: 6/12
For the post of Topass: 6/60 with Better eye and 6/60 with worse (If with Glasses —  6/9 with good eye and 6/24 with worse eye).

How to Apply: Apply on prescribed format or type neatly on A4 size paper as per format. Candidates should apply for any one of the post.

Application form should be enclosed with following attested copies of documents—

• Attested copy of Madhyamik certificates in proof of Age. If candidates is not Madhyamik Pass then they can give Birth Certificate attested by Gazetted officer can be given
• Attested copies of Marksheets and Certificates of educational qualification.
• Attested copy of Domicile Certificate
• Two Nos. Self-addressed envelopes with affixed postal stamp of Rs.10 on one of the envelope
• Other categories should enclose relevant documents in proof, such as SC/ST/OBC, Ex-Naval personnel/ Widow/ Sons of serving Naval personnel and etc.

Last date and Address: Application form should reach only by Ordinary post within 06th July 2012 (13th July 2012 for candidates of North East, J&K, Andaman &Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep 7 Minicoy Island) at the following address — “POST BOX NO – 02, Post Office – Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110 003”.



N.B: On the top of the application form containing envelope, superscribe the type of entry, choice of centre and choice of branch . E.g.- MR/NMR 01/2013, STATE MAHARASTRA,
BRANCH COOK. 
Envelopes should be of brown colour.
