BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (BIS) INVITES ONLINE APPLICATION FOR 50 TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (LABORATORY) AND SENIOR TECHNICIAN. LAST DATE — 08/03/2020

 

1. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (LABORATORY)

No. of Vacancies: 30 Nos. (UR-04, EWS-11, SC-04, ST-04, OBC-07. Out of the total posts, 01 post is reserved for PWD and 03 posts are reserved for EXSM)

Discipline wise vacancies:
i) Chemical- 12 posts
ii) Mechanical- 05 posts
iii) Electrical- 02 posts
iv) Microbiology- 06 posts
v) Civil- 05 posts

Educational Qualification: i) Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Chemistry or Microbiology or Physics or Bio-Technology or Food Technology or Bio-Chemistry or Electronics as one of the main subject) with minimum 60% marks (50% for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).
OR
ii) Three years Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Civil or Chemical or Electronics or Food Technology or Metallurgy with minimum 60% marks (50% marks for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes).

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years as on 08/03/2020.

 

2. SENIOR TECHNICIAN

No. of Vacancies: 20 Nos. (UR-11, EWS-02, SC-01, ST-02, OBC-04. Out of the total posts, 01 post is reserved for PWD and 02 posts are reserved for EXSM)

Discipline wise vacancies:
i) Air-conditioning/ Refrigeration- 01 post
ii) Mechanic (Diesel Engine)- 07 posts
iii) Electrician- 05 posts
iv) Fitter- 03 posts
v) Welder- 01 post
vi) Carpenter- 03 posts

Educational Qualification: i) Matric or its equivalent.
ii) Industrial Training Institute Certificate in any of the following trades- Electrician, Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration, Mechanic (Diesel- Engine), Fitter, Carpenter, Welder (the Welder should be also having passed the Welders’ Qualifying Test as per the relevant Indian Standard or its equivalent).

Experience: Two years’ practical experience in the respective trade after having obtained the Industrial Training Institute certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate in the relevant trade.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 27 years as on 08/03/2020.

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

The vacancies are at Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Headquarters, New Delhi and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Offices located in the country. The candidates will be appointed by Direct Recruitment.

The selected candidates will be on Probation for two years.

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through On-line Examination and Skill/ Practical/ Trade Test. The On-line Examination will be tentatively held on 29th March, 2020. The examination will be held at various centres across India.

NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ ST/ PWD/ EX-SERVICEMEN/ WOMEN/ BIS SERVING DEPARTMENTAL CANDIDATES.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) — www.bis.gov.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 17/02/2020 to 08/03/2020.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS (BIS) AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
