The Ministry of Railways is pleased to announce the Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana training program under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana for December 2023. This short-term skill development initiative aims to provide training across various trades to empower the youth for employment opportunities and self-employment.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have passed 10th grade.
Age should be between 18 and 35 as of the notification date.
Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana Selection Method:
The selection process for this training program is based on merit, utilizing the percentage marks attained in the 10th class examination. For candidates who have their grades represented in Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), the conversion into a percentage is conducted in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
To calculate the percentage from CGPA, a standard conversion formula is employed, where the CGPA is multiplied by 9.5. This conversion method aligns with the guidelines stipulated by CBSE, ensuring a standardized and equitable assessment of candidates regardless of the grading system used. Therefore, the resulting percentage serves as a key determinant in the merit-based selection process, offering a fair and transparent evaluation of candidates’ academic performance in the 10th class.

‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Job Assurance:
Completion of the training program does not come with a guarantee of securing employment within the railway sector. While the training equips candidates with valuable skills and knowledge, the acquisition of a training certificate does not automatically assure placement in railway employment. Employment opportunities may depend on various factors, including the availability of positions, individual performance, and the specific hiring policies of the railway authorities. Candidates need to recognize that the training serves as a foundation for skill development, but actual employment is subject to the prevailing conditions and requirements of the railway industry.
Attendance:
75% attendance is compulsory.
Course Duration:
The training program spans 3 weeks (18 Days).
Pass Criteria:
55% in written exams, and 60% in practical assessments.
Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana Other Details:
The training program is offered at no cost to the candidates; however, participants must make arrangements for accommodation and meals during the training period. The provision of free training does not extend to covering expenses related to lodging and food, placing the responsibility on candidates to ensure their accommodation and sustenance throughout the program.
Furthermore, it is important to note that no allowances, including daily allowance, conveyance allowance, or travel allowance, will be provided to the trainees. As part of the training schedule, sessions are exclusively scheduled during daytime hours, requiring the attendance of candidates during the designated training hours.
Additionally, candidates are required to furnish a notarized affidavit, affirming their commitment to adhere to the rules and guidelines stipulated by the training institute. This legal document serves as an acknowledgment of the candidate’s understanding and agreement to comply with the institute’s regulations, ensuring a disciplined and safe learning environment throughout the training program.
‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Application Process Instructions:
- Application window: 07.11.2023 (00:00 hrs) to 20.11.2023 (23:59 hrs) (14 days).
- Automatic shortlisting of candidates on 21.11.2023 (12:30 PM) based on merit.
- Selected candidates must produce original documents for verification during reporting.
Documents Required:
- Photograph and signature.
- Matriculation mark sheet and certificate.
- Photo identity proof (Aadhar card, Bank passbook, Ration card, PAN card).
- Affidavit on Rs. 10/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper.
- Medical Certificate.
Medical Fitness:
- A fitness certificate from a registered MBBS doctor is mandatory.
Stipend:
- No stipend will be provided.
Training Details:
- Training starts as per the institute’s schedule.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Trainees are not entitled to any pass/PTO from the institute.
