TRADE APPRENTICE
No. of Vacancies: 493 Nos. (UR-239, EWS-44, SC-72, ST-14, OBC (NCL)-124. Out of the total posts, 19 posts are reserved for PwBD)
The vacancies are for the following Trades: Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Accountant, Data Entry Operator (Fresher/ Skill Certificate Holders).
Educational Qualification:
i) For Fitter, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic and Machinist trades: Matric with two year ITI course in respective trade.
ii) For Accountant trade: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates) from a recognized Institute/ University.
iii) For Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate).
iv) For Data Entry Operator (Skilled Certificate Holders): Minimum 12th Pass (but below Graduate). Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of Domestic Data Entry Operator for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Govt.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31/10/2020.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category.
The vacancies are for undergoing Apprenticeship Training for a period of 12 Months/ 15 Months under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/ 1992 (as amended from time to time) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)- Southern Region (MD) Marketing Division.
The apprenticeship training will be conducted in the following States- Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. For State wise vacancies please see the officially released advertisement.
The candidates who have undergone Apprenticeship earlier or pursuing Apprenticeship Training in an Industry as per the Apprenticeship Act, 1961/ 1973/ 1992 as amended from time to time or job experience for a period of 01 year or more are not eligible. Candidates with qualification acquired through Distance Learning Mode or Part Time Mode or Correspondence mode will not be considered. Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications are not eligible.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Test and Verification of Documents. The Written Test will be conducted at Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Vijaywada and Bangalore on 3rd January, 2021.
