Hundreds of Boys & Girls in 39 Numbers of Ordnance Factories for the Training purpose of “Trade Apprentice”.

Under the Ministry of Defence, Central Government of India is providing Training to some hundreds of boys and girls as “Trade Apprentice” in 39 Nos. of Ordnance Factories in India along with West Bengal. More details were given below—

Trade Apprentice in Ordnance Factory.
Candidates may apply in any one of two categories as per or according to their qualification—

Non I.T.I. Category: Madhyamik pass candidates with Mathematics and Science as a compulsory subject may apply. They must have acquired 40% marks in Aggregate and 45% marks individually in Mathematic and Science.

I.T.I. Category: Candidates with 2 years Trade Certificate Course pass in any one of the Trade from N.C.V.T or S.C.V.T. approved I.T.I. may apply under I.T.I. Category.

For both Categories, age of the candidates should be between 14yrs to 22yrs as on dated—1-10-2011. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates- 5yrs, OBC candidates- 3yrs and PH candidates- 10yrs.

Candidates should be physically and mentally well.  Training will be of 3yrs but may increase to 4 yrs according to nature of Trades.
After completion of training job may be allotted but it is not mandatory.

Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected through Written Test which may hold on 18th Dec at their respective centres. Written Test will be taken by Ordnance Factory Board.
For candidates under Non-I.T.I. categories; the questions will be Objective Multiple Choice Type on the following topics—(I) English, (2) General Knowledge and (3) Mathematic and Aptitude/Reasoning. There will be no Interview.
For candidates under I.T.I. Categories, the 40% of questions will be on—(I) English, (II) General Knowledge, (III) Mathematics and Aptitude/Reasoning. Rest 60% questions will be on the Trade on which candidate has done I.T.I. There will be no Interview.

If selected in Written Test then there will be Medical examination of the candidate.

How to Apply: Submit application form online by visiting the official website of Ordnance Factory—http://ofbindia.gov.in
Before apply applying online candidate should prepare a postal order of Rs.30. It should be in the address and favour of – “Sr. GM/ GM” of the Ordnance factory on where the candidate wills to apply. SC/ST and PH candidates requires no fee.

Admit Card will be available on the above mentioned site for downloads from dated—8th Dec to 15th Dec-2011.

Candidate should have their own valid e-mail address. Now after visiting the website of Ordnance Factory (mentioned above) candidates may fill the online application form. Now after submitting the online application form; computer generated application will appear on the screen of which candidates should make print-out copy. Now this print-out copy of application form should be sent at the respective address of the factory on where candidates will to sit. Along with form, the following documents should be enclosed—

  • Attested copies of Age, Caste and Educational Certificates
  • Recent one Nos. color passport size photograph
  • Original of Postal Order

Last date: Print-out application should reach within 27th November 2011.  On the top of the envelope, superscribe—“TRADE APPRENTICE”. For more details on No. of vacancies according to Trade wise and address of respective factories, please visit the official website—http://ofbindia.gov.in

3. The General Manager, Ordnance Factory, Dum Dum, Pin- 700 028, West Bengal
4. The General Manager, Gun & Shell Factory, Cossipore- 700 002, West Bengal
5. The General Manager, Ordnance Factory Badmal, Badmal-767 770, Orissa.
Rest of the Ordnance factory is situated at Andhra Pradesh (1 Nos.), Tamil Nadu (6 Nos.), Madhya Pradesh (6 Nos.), Uttar Pradesh (10 Nos.) and Maharashtra (10 Nos.).
