Assam Rifles is going to hold a Recruitment Rally for recruitment of 242 persons (Male candidates) for the post of “Tradesman” in trades of BB, Carpenter, Cook, EBR, Painter, Safai, Tailor and WM. The Recruitment rally will be held at Dimapur (Nagaland), NRS-Dimapur and Lokhra (Assam), {NRS-Tezpur/NRS-Rangapara (NORTH)} from 18 Jul 2012 onwards. Madhyamik pass candidates may apply and take parts in the rally. Brief details is given below—

Note: PH candidates should not apply for the recruitment rally since the posts were not suitable for them. 10% of vacancies in each category is reserved for Ex-Serviceman.
Qualification required: Candidates should be Madhyamik (Class-X) pass. Candidates will have to pass the departmental professional Trade Test of the Trade for which the candidates applied during selection steps.
Physical Standard: —
Height: 170 cms (165 cms for Hill area regions candidates and 162.5 for ST candidates)
Chest (Unexpanded/ expanded): 80/ 85 cms (78/ 83cms for Hilly regions candidates and 76/ 81cms for ST candidates)
Weight: Proportional to Height and Age as per medical standard (for all)
Age limit: between 18yrs to 23yrs as on 1/8/2012. Age relaxation to OBC- 3yrs; SC/ST- 5yrs.
Pay Scale: As per admissible to Assam Rifles Personnel.
Selection steps: Candidates will be selected through Height and Weight Measurement test, Physical Efficiency Test and Written Test.
Physical Efficiency Test will be on —
(i) 5km run within 24 minutes.
(ii) 11 ft long jump within 3 chances
(iii) 3.5 ft High Jump within 3 chances.
The written test will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a pen. The question paper will be of 100 marks.
