Education and Other qualification for all above posts:
1. Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board or Institute. (8th class pass for the ST Candidates or Mizoram State, Tirap and Changing districts of Arunachal Pradesh only) and

2. (i) Two years work experience in respective trade OR (ii) One year certificate course from Industrial Trg. Institute/ Vocational Institute with atleast one year experience in the Trade OR (iii) Two years Diploma from Industrial Trg. Institute in the trade or similar trade (iv)For the post of CT. (Cook)/Washerman/Barber/Safaiwala/Water carrier/Waiter/Tailor/Gardener/Cobbler/Multi-skilled candidates will be given preference.

Age: 18-23 yrs on 10.12.2010 (28 for SC/ST; 26 for OBC; as per rules for ESM)

Pay in Pay Band I : Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade pay Rs. 2000 pm + Dearness allowances, Ration money, washing allowances, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport allowances, free leave pass and any other allowances.

Physical standards in all posts: 167.5 cm (165 cm for Gorkhas, Sikkimese; 162.5 cm for Adivasis or Tribals including Nagas)

Chest (Unexpended/Expended): 80-85 (78-83 cm for Gorkhas, Sikkimese; 76-81 cm for adivasis or tribals including Nagas)

Weight should be proportional to height and age as per medical standards.

Medical Standards:
(a) Vision: Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes without glass
(b) Must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.

Selection process: Eligible candidates shall be issued admit card to appear in recruitment tests.

Documentation: Candidates should carry original document during and before appearing for the recruitment test. Along with original; photocopies of each document (mentioned below) with attested will be also required.

Candidates should have to go through Physical Standard Test (PST) and then Physical Efficiency Test (PET) consisting of following events which is qualifying in nature:
(a) 1600 mtrs race to be completed in ten minutes.
(b) 11 feet long jump with 3 chances
(c) 3.5 feet high jump with 3 chances

Those who do not get qualify in above test will be eliminated. No physical efficiency test will be held for Ex-serviceman.

Written test: Selected candidates from PST and PET will be allowed to appear in written test consist of 25 marks. The question will be of objective types with option to write either in Hindi or English. Questions will be of General awareness, Elementary mathematics, G.K and ability to observe and distinguish patterns and basic knowledge of candidates in Hindi/English

Practical Trade Test (75 marks): After selection from written test, practical test will be held as per requirement of the job concerned. Candidates will have to bring their own tools required for his practical test.

Medical Test: this is the last step of selection procedure. Medically unfit candidates will not be considered for post.

N.B: candidates should come duly prepared to stay for 5-6 days at their own arrangement at the place of recruitment.

Application fee: Rs 50 for Gen/OBC to be paid by Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of “ The Accounts Officer”, SHQ, SSB, Gorakhpur (UP)”
No application fee for SC/ST/ESM.

Enclosures to be sent with Application:
1. Attested copy of Birth Certificate
2. Attested copy of Education qualification
3. Attested copy SC/ST/OBC certificate and domicile certificate in given format (available with form)
4. Duly attested passport size photograph (attach one with admit card & other on application)
5. IPO/Band draft of Rs. 50 (for Gen. & OBC only)
6. 2 self-addressed envelopes (4”X9”) with postage stamp of Rs.6 on each envelope.
7. Attested copy of technical qualification certificates
8. Attested copy of Discharge certificates in case of Ex-Servicemen
9. Experience certificate in relevant trade.
