Under Ministry of Defence- Indian Ord Factoty Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, is recruiting 16 persons for the post of “Junior Hindi Translator” and “Storekeeper”. Graduate and Higher Secondary Pass candidates may apply for the post. Candidates willing to apply for the post should address their application to the General Manager by neatly typing on plain paper exactly as the prescribed format. Brief details given below—
1. JUNIOR HINDI TRANSLATOR (Group-B): 1 Nos. (General candidates)
Qualification: Master degree in Hindi/ English with English/ Hindi as compulsory/ elective subject or as medium of exam at degree level or Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English as compulsory/ elective subject or either of the two as medium of exam and the other as compulsory/ elective subject at degree level, or Master’s degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi/ English with Hindi/ English medium and English/ Hindi as compulsory/ elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level.
OR
Bachelor’s degree with Hindi & English as compulsory/ elective subjects or either of the two as medium of exam and the other as a compulsory/ elective subject plus recognised diploma/ certificates course in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa
OR
Two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English & vice versa in Central/ State Govt. offices including Govt. of India undertakings.
Pay scale: Rs.93800—Rs.34800 and Grade pay—Rs.4200
Age: between 18yrs to 30yrs as on last date of application.
2. STOREKEEPER (Group-C): 15 Nos. (Gen-9; SC-2; OBC-4). Out of total- 1nos. for PH (VH-LV)
Qualification: Higher Secondary pass. Computer knowledge is desirable.
Pay scale: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Gradepay: Rs.1900
Age: between 18yrs to 27yrs as on last date of application.
Age relaxation: for OBC- 3yrs, SC/ST-5yrs, PH- 10yrs and Ex-Serviceman and others—as per norms.
Selection steps: Candidates will be selected through Written Test and Interview, as applicable—
For Junior Hindi Translator: — Written Test will be of 400 marks and Interview will be of 100 marks. There will be two papers in Written Test- Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I will be of Objective Type multiple choice questions of 200 marks on – (i) General Hindi and (ii) General English. Negative marking will be there.
Paper—II will be Conventional Type of 200 marks on – Translation- 2Passages, one each from Hindi to English and vice versa and an essay each in Hindi & English. Candidates who will qualify the Paper-I can only sit for Paper-II.
Personally Test/ Interview will be of 100 marks. Only qualified candidates will be eligible to appear in Interview.
For Storekeeper: — Written Test will be of 200 marks of Objective Type Multiple Choice Question on—(i) General Intelligence (50 marks of 50 questions), (ii) English Language- Basic (50 marks of 50 questions), (iii) Quantitative Aptitude – basic Arithmetic skill (50 marks of 50 questions) and (iv) General Awareness (50 marks of 50 questions). There will be negative marking in wrong answer.
How to Apply: Application should made as per prescribed format (on A4 size paper) released officially by Indian Ord Factory, Tiruchirapalli.
Application Fee: Candidates should pay Application fee of Rs. 100 (for Jr. Hindi Translator) and Rs.50 (for Storekeeper) in form of IPO in favour of — General Manager, Ordnance Factory Tiruchirapalli.
SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/PH candidates do not require to pay Application fee.
Along with the application form, the prescribed Fee and attested copy of SC/ST/PH/XSM certificate, as the case may be, and 3 (three) paper-slipd of size 11cm x 4 cm containing the postal address should be enclosed. Attested copies of educational/ technical qualification, age proof and any relevant documents in support should be enclosed with application form. attestation should be made by Gazetted Officer or the Principal/ Headmaster of the school.
Send 3 Nos. passport size photographs along with application (one copy should be pasted on the application form and then get it attested by gazetted officer and other two similar photographs should be given as enclosures after writing your name on the reverse)
The envelope containing the application form must be superscribed in bold—“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _______”
