Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari (Cooch Behar) is recruiting 33 candidates for the following posts for different Krishi Vigyan Kendras (in Cooch Behar, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur and Malda districts) under the aegis of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya. Posts — Programme Co-ordinator, Subject Matter Specialist, Programme Assistant, Assistant, Stenographer, Driver and Skilled Support Staff. 1. PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR
Number of Vacancies: 3 Nos. (SC—2; ST—1)
Qualification: (i) First class or high second class Master’s degree in the relevant subject or discipline followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Science/Veterinary Science / Fishery Science.
(ii) A Doctoral degree in any branch of Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Animal Science/ Fishery Science.
(iii) Eight (8) years’ experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of agricultural situations and problems of the farmers of the state.
Age: 45yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.37400—67000, Grade Pay: Rs.9000/-

2. SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALIST
Number of Vacancies: 13 Nos. Discipline –
— Animal Science: 3 Nos. (Gen-PWD—1; OBC-B—1; ST—1)
— Agril. Extension/ Veterinary Extension/ Dairy Extension: 1 Nos. (SC)
— Home Science: 2 Nos. (Gen—1; Gen-PWD—1)
— Horticulture: 3 Nos. (Gen—1; OBC-A—1; ST—1)
— Plant Protection: 3 Nos. (Gen—2; USC—1)
— Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry: 1 Nos. (OBC-B)
Qualification: First class or high Second class Master’s degree in the relevant subject/discipline followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Science/ Veterinary Science or Home Science from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Doctoral degree and/or NET in the relevant subject/field.
Age: 40yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600—39100 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

3. PROGRAMME ASSISTANT (COMPUTER)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/Computer Engineering.
(ii) Two years’ experience in handling practical ICT problems, designing and maintaining websites etc. in any Govt./quasi Govt. or reputed private organizations.
Desirable Qualification: Master’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications.
Age: 35yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

4. ASSISTANT (ADMINISTRATION/ACCOUNTS)
Number of Vacancies: 03 Nos. (SC—2; OBC-A—1)
Qualification: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with the working knowledge of computers and experience in handling computerized accounting packages.
(ii) Five years’ experience in accounting and office management in a Govt./ quasi Govt./  University/institute or any other private organizations.
Desirable qualification: Good Communication skill in English
Age: 35yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9300—34800 and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

5. STENOGRAPHER GRADE-III
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: Higher Secondary passed or equivalent with a certificate of stenography from a recognised institution AND —
(ii) Steno/ typing speed @ 100/40 words /minute
(iii) Proficiency in English and Bengali typing.
Desirable Qualification: Graduation with good communication skills in English, Bengali and Hindi.
Age: 35yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1800/-

6. Driver
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (OBC-B)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent and must possess valid driving license.
Desirable Qualification: One year trade certificate in the relevant field from ITI/ Experience of driving in a recognized Institution/ Experience of motor mechanic work/should be capable of driving both light and heavy vehicles including tractors in farms.
Age: 35yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/-

7. SKILLED SUPPORT STAFF 
Number of Vacancies: 10 Nos. (Gen—5; SC—2; OBC-A—1; OBC-B—1; ST—1)
Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent with with skill in agriculture and/or allied vocations. Desirable Desirable Qualification: Diploma in agriculture and/or allied courses, some work experience, technical skills.
Age: 35yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1800/-

Age limit: Above mentioned age is maximum age limit and will be counted as on 01/01/2014. Relaxation of age for 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates shall be made as per Govt. rules.
However, the age limit is not applicable to the persons who are already in service on regular establishment of Government/other recognized institutions or universities.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format along with duly attested copies of the certificates pertaining to their qualifications, date of birth, category, experience etc.
The top of the envelope containing application and enclosures shall be superscribed in block letters with – “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF___________ UNDER KVK”.
Candidates willing to apply for more than one post may submit separate application form/ DD for each post.

Application Fee: —
Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST candidates) for the post of Programme Co-ordinator and Subject Matter Specialist.
And Rs.300/- (Rs.150 for SC/ST candidates) for rest of the post. Application Fee shall be paid by A/c Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya”, payable at Cooch Behar.
