Recruitment of 465 Boys/Girls as “Scientific Assistant” in Indian Meteorological Department

Under Central Government – Indian Meteorological Department is recruiting 465 boys and girls for the post of “Scientific Assistant”. Candidates with degree course in Science Stream may apply for the post

Name of the Post: Scientific Assistant.

Number of Vacancies: 465 Nos. (Gen-230; OBC-128; SC-70; ST-37), among them OH is-10 and HH-10
Job will be on post of “Group-B” Non-Gadget Officer

Qualification: Candidates with three years of Degree Course in Science stream with physics as top subject may apply for the post. Candidates with three years degree course in computer science, information technology or, computer application were also eligible to apply.
N.B.: Candidates should have acquired 60% marks in their Degree Course and should have Mathematics and Physics as a compulsory subject in their Higher Secondary Level Examination

Age Limit: Candidates should be within 30 years as on 28 October, 2011. Age Relaxation: OBC-03 years, SC/ST-05 years PH-10 years, widow or legally divorce woman-08 years, Central Government Workers and Ex-Serviceman-as Per Government Norms.

Pay Scale: Rs. 9300 – Rs. 34,800. Grade pay: Rs. 4200

Selection of Candidates: Selection of candidates will be through Written Test arranged by Staff Selection Commission’s (SSC) “Recruitment of Scientific Assistant in Indian Mateorigical Department 2011” which may hold on 18 December, 2011 at their respective centres. For Eastern India, Centre will be – Kolkata (code 4 410) and Guwahati (code-5105).
Written test will be of 400  marks in two papers – First Paper (200 marks) will Be of Objective Multiple-Choice Type Questions and second paper will be of (200 marks) Descriptive Type Questions. Questions will be set in English and Hindi. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.
Qualified candidates from written test will be called for Interview of 100 marks. More details on examination and syllabus, please visit the official site of SSC.

How to Apply: Candidates should apply only through online system by visiting the official website of SSC –http:ssconline.nic.in or http://sscregistration.sifyitest.com
Candidates should make Registration of part-I at first step and then Part-II registration. Before making Part-II registration, candidates should pay the exams fee of Rs. 100 through Net Banking or by depositing it in any branch of State Bank of India through fee challan. Application fee challan can be downloaded from the official website of SSC after making part- 1 registration. (Female candidates, SC/ST and PH candidates do not require fee)
Candidate will required to upload recent passport size photo and scan copy of signature in JPG format. More details and information to fill up the online application form can be found on the website as mentioned above.
Finally after submitting the online application form, a computer-generated application will appear on the computer screen, candidates should make printout copy of this computer-generated application.

Last date: last date to make Part-I Registration – 26 October, 2011 and last date to make Part-2 Registration – 28 October, 2011
