Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications for National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I), 2023. Eligible and interested candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) (See the link given below). NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION (I), 2023

 

 

Educational Qualifications:

  • For the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy:—
    • 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a
      University.
  • For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian
    Naval Academy:—

    • 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Age Limit:

  • Only unmarried male/female candidates born not earlier than 02nd July 2004 and not later than 1st July 2007 are eligible.

Physical Standards:

  • Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy
    Examination (I), 2023 as per guidelines given in Appendix IV. (e) A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academies of the Armed Forces is not eligible to apply

Application Fees:

  • Candidates (excepting SC/ST candidates/female candidates/Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs specified in Note 2 below who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India by cash, or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking of any Bank.

Section Process:

  • UPSC NDA 1 is the examination process that is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to provide the opportunity to the youth of the country who wish to join defence jobs. The selection for defence jobs through NDA 1 Exam 2023 will be conducted in two stages:
    • Written examination
    • Intelligence & Personality Test (SSB)
  • A candidate who qualifies in a written examination will be called for a personality test which will be conducted to check the intelligence and personality. The candidates have to clear both stages to get their names on the merit list. The merit list/final result will be generated by UPSC with the cumulative score of the Written Exam and the SSB will be considered for final selection.

How To Apply:

  • Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR has to be registered only once in a lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination.

Important Dates:

  • The Online Applications can be filled up to 10th January 2023 till 6:00 PM.
  • The online Applications can be withdrawn from 18.01.2023 to 24.01.2023 till 6:00 PM. Detailed instructions regarding the withdrawal of Applications are available in Appendix II (B).
