Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to conduct Combined Defence Services Examination (I) – 2014 [Including SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course] for admission to various courses (see below). Interested and eligible candidates may apply online through the official website of UPSC within below scheduled date. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —
A Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted by the UPSC on 09th Feb, 2014 for admission to below mentioned courses —
1. Indian Military Academy, Dehradun — 138th Course commencing in Jan, 2015
Number of Vacancies: 250 vacancies.
Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
Only unmarried male candidates may apply. Male divorcee/ widower candidates will be treated as Unmarried and are eligible to apply.
Age: Not born earlier than 2nd Jan, 1991 and not later than 01st Jan, 1996.
2. Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala— Course Commencing in Jan, 2015 Executive (General Service)
Number of Vacancies: 40 vacancies
Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institution.
Only Unmarried male are eligible to apply. Male divorcee/ widower candidates will be treated as Unmarried and are eligible to apply.
Age: Not born earlier than 2nd Jan, 1991 and not later than 01st Jan, 1996
3. Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course commencing in Jan,2015
Number of Vacancies: 32 vacancies
Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level OR Bachelor of Engineering.
Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. Male divorcee/ widower candidates will be treated as Unmarried and are eligible to apply.
Age: Not born earlier than 2nd Jan, 1992 and not later than 01st Jan, 1996
4. Officers Training Academy, Chennai, 101st SSC Course (for men) commencing in April, 2015
Number of Vacancies: 175 vacancies.
Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. Married or unmarried male candidates may apply.
Age: Not born earlier than 2nd Jan, 1990 and not later than 01st Jan, 1996
5. Officers Training Academy, Chennai 15th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing in April, 2015
Number of Vacancies: 12 vacancies.
Educational Qualification: Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
Unmarried Women, Widows (not remarried) and legally divorced women (not remarried) are eligible to apply.
Age: Not born earlier than 2nd Jan, 1990 and not later than 01st Jan, 1996
The Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted in various centres of UPSC in India on 09th February, 2014 (Candidates can choose their examination centre while filling the online Application form).
E-Admission Certificate will be issued to the eligible candidates three weeks before the commencement of the examination. No hard copy of call letter/ Admit card will be issued by post.

Examination Fee: Candidates willing to apply must pay Examination fee of Rs.200/- through any branches of State Bank of India by cash. Fee can be also paid through online banking system or through Debit/ Credit card during submission of Online application (refer the advt. for details)
SC/ST and Female candidates are exempted from paying Examination fee.

After submitting the online application, candidates must print-out the system generated registration slip for future correspondence. Do not send any hard copy of application or documents to USPC.
Last Date of Online application: Online Application can be filled till 02nd December, 2013 (till midnight).
