Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications for 56 posts of Chemist and Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology/ Chemical/ Geophysics)Combined Geo-Scientist Examination- 2024. The posts are under the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines and Central Ground Water Board, and Ministry of Water Resources. The candidates will initially be appointed on a Temporary basis. Geologist Group ‘A’

No. of Vacancies: 34 Nos.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Geology

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years

Geophysicist Group ‘A’

No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years

Chemist Group ‘A’

No. of Vacancies: 13 Nos.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years

SCIENTIST ‘B’ (HYDROGEOLOGY)

No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos.

Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology from a recognized University.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years 

SCIENTIST ‘B’ (CHEMICAL)

No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years 

SCIENTIST ‘B’ (GEOPHYSICS)

No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.

UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2023 Educational Qualification: 

Master of Science degree in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Technology) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized University.

Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years

Candidates’ Selection: 

Selection of candidates will be through Computer Based Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination and Personality Test/ Interview.

Examination Fee: 

Candidates must pay an Examination Fee of Rs. 200/-. Fee can be paid Online mode during the submission of the online application form by using a Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through a Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). See the released advertisement for more details.

NO EXAMINATION FEE IS REQUIRED IN THE CASE OF FEMALE/ SC/ ST/ PWBD CANDIDATES.

How to Apply for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2023

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) — https://upsconline.nic.in (See the Application form’s link given below).

Upon successful payment of the prescribed fee and submission of the online application form, the system-generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO THE UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC) AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
