Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Recruitment 2024
Education and Age Requirements:

Scientist ‘B’:
- Qualification: B.Tech in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology.
- Age Limits: Up to 35 years for URs and up to 40 years for SCs.
Research/Planning Officer:
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Psychology or Commerce.
- Age Limit: Up to 30 years for URs.
Assistant Mineral Economist:
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Applied Geology or Geology or Economics or Bachelor’s Degree.

Application Fee:
Candidates need to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty-five) only (except for Female/SC/ST/PwBD Candidates exempt from fee payment). The fee can be deposited at any SBI branch in cash, or through net banking, Visa/Master/Rupay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI payment. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates from any community are exempt from paying the fee. General/OBC/EWS male candidates do not qualify for a fee exemption and must pay the full prescribed fee.
Note: Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected without further review, and no appeals will be entertained against such rejections. The fee, once paid, cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
UPSC Group A Recruitment Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on an Interview. The minimum suitability level in interviews, category-wise, will be as follows, irrespective of whether the selection is made only by interview or by Recruitment Test followed by interview:
- UR/EWS: 50 marks
- OBC: 45 marks
- SC/ST/PwBD: 40 marks out of 100.
In cases where selection is made by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview, candidates must achieve the minimum suitability level in their respective categories at the Interview stage.

How to Apply for UPSC Recruitment 2024
Candidates can apply online through the UPSC official website www.upsconline.nic.in. Applications received through any other mode will not be accepted.
Upload necessary documents/certificates supporting your claims in PDF format. Ensure the file size doesn’t exceed 1 MB for specific modules and 2 MB for the “UPLOAD OTHER DOCUMENT” module. Documents should be legible and scanned at 200 dpi grayscale. Do not upload documents like Pay Slips, Resume, etc.
Provide essential documents such as Date of Birth proof, Educational qualification proof, Equivalent qualification documents, Experience certificate, Caste certificate (if applicable), Declaration for OBC reservation, Disability certificate (for PwBD candidates), and any other supporting documents.
Note: If documents are in a language other than Hindi or English, provide a duly attested transcript.
