Name of the Post: ASSISTANT COMMANDANTS (GROUP ‘A’)
Total Vacancies: 304 Posts.
Break up of vacancies as per Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) are as follows: —
Border Security Force (BSF): 28 posts.
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF): 94 posts.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF): 37 posts.
Indo Tibetan Border Police: 107 posts.
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB): 38 posts.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline. Candidates appearing final year examination or awaiting result may also apply but such applicants will be require to produce pass certificate at the final stage of candidates’ selection for the post.
Note: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for the post of Assistant Commandants in CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF. However, for the post of Assistant Commandants in ITBP only Male candidates are eligible.
Age Limit: Must have attained 20 years but not have attained the age of 25 years as on 01.08.2015, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1990 and not later than 1st August, 1995.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Domicile of J&K—05yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others, if any – As per Govt. norms.
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test. Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by UPSC.
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards for admission to Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants), Examination, 2015 specified in Appendix-V of the Notice (See URL/ PDF file provided below for details).
Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)
(a) 100 Meters race in 16 seconds (In 18 seconds for female)
(b) 800 Meters race in 3 minutes 45 seconds (in 4 minutes 45 seconds for female candidates)
(c) Long Jump 3.5 Meters in 3 chances (3.0 meters in case of female candidates)
(d) Shot Put (7.26 Kgs.) 4.5 Meters
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination-2015 on 12th July, 2015 at various centres across the country.
Candidates applying from West Bengal may choose “Kolkata” as their examination centre.

Examination Fee: Rs.200/- for General and OBC candidates. Fee can be paid online during submission of online Application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking. Fee can be also paid through any branch of SBI by means of system generated Fee payment Challan. Challan will be generated upon submission of Part-I of online application.
