UPSC – Recruitment of 136 Assistant Commandant in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP & SSB through CAPF Examination,2014. Last Dt. 12/05/14

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to conduct a Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination,2014 for recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Group-A) in CAPF viz. – Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (GROUP-A)
Number of Vacancies: 136 Nos.

Distribution of vacancies as per CAPFs—
— BSF: 68 Nos.
— CRPF: 28 Nos.
— CISF: 40 Nos.
— ITBP: Nil (Will be declared later)
— SSB: Nil (Will be declared later)

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Both Male and Female candidates may apply for the post of Assistant Commandant in CRPF, CISF, SSB and BSF. However, for vacancies in ITBP only Male candidates are eligible. 

Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards as per norms laid by Central Armed Police Forces (See the PDF file below for details).
For Male candidates: Height—165cms; Chest (unexpanded/expanded)—81cms/ 86cms; Weight—minimum 50Kgs
For Female candidates: Height—157cm; Chest – Not Applicable; Weight—minimum 46kgs.
Distant Vision (for all): 6/9 with better and worse eyes.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. 

Age Limit: Minimum 20yrs and maximum 25yrs as on 01-08-2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test. Finally candidates will go for Interview/Personality Test.

Examination Fee: Candidates belonging to General and OBC category shall pay Application Fee of Rs.200/-. Fee is to be paid through online mode during submission of online application by means of Debit/Credit card/ Net Banking or can be paid through bank transaction (SBI) by means of fee payment challan which will be generated upon submission of online application.
NO FEE FOR SC/ST AND ALL WOMEN CANDIDATES.
